Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

The Saunion (Japanese: サウニオン Saunion) is a ranged lance which was introduced in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. It has the highest range of any lance available to the player and boasts the ability to attack units as far as three spaces away, but in exchange it is completely unable to attack or retaliate against adjacent foes. Its selection of combat arts allows its high range to be temporarily extended even further, give temporary defensive increases, and switch places with allies.

Saunion

A saunion, more commonly known by the Roman name soliferrum (Latin: "only iron"), is an ancient Iberian heavy spear designed for throwing. Unlike most polearms, it is composed entirely of iron. Its weight and narrow tip made it highly effective at piercing the armor and shields of the era.
