2-Me-DET, also known as 2-methyl-N,N-diethyltryptamine, is a lesser-known psychedelic drug of the tryptamine family.[1] It is the 2-methyl analogue of diethyltryptamine (DET). 2-Me-DET was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin.[1] In his book TiHKAL (Tryptamines I Have Known and Loved), the minimum dose is listed as 80 to 120 mg orally, and the duration listed as 6 to 8 hours.[1] 2-Me-DET produces pitch distortion, like that of DiPT.[1] Very little data exists about the pharmacological properties, metabolism, and toxicity of 2-Me-DET.[1]
