Captain Reynold Kahalewai of the Hawaii Police Department, Hamakua District shares his POV on the recent impact in Hawaii, following Hurricane Lala. “After the recent storm, our district was without power and cellular service. The prompt delivery of a FirstNet portable satellite communications solution with dedicated connectivity allowed first responders to log in with their mobile data terminals and make essential calls at our Lapahoehoe and Honokaa Stations,” Our thoughts are with the communities affected by Hurricane Lala. As FirstNet ROG guides the deployment of public safety’s assets, the AT&T Network Disaster Recovery (NDR) team is also providing on-the-ground support to help ensure FirstNet assets get placed where first responders need connectivity most.

FirstNet was honored to join the fire and rescue community at International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) #FRI2026 in Kansas City. 👉 Throughout the event, we showcased innovative technology designed to support first responders and the critical work they do every day. 🖤 A meaningful highlight was joining New York City Fire Department John M. Esposito in honoring the courage, service and sacrifice of those who responded on 9/11, and ensuring their legacy is never forgotten. 🤝 Attendees also had the opportunity to meet NYC paramedic and content creator Jack Raia, whose experiences help bring greater awareness to the realities of emergency medical service. 🐶 Oakley, one of our ROG the Dog therapy animals, was also in the booth, offering a calming presence and helping our fire and rescue friends recharge during a busy event. Thank you to everyone who visited us, shared their stories and continues to serve communities across the country. We were proud to connect, listen and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to America’s first responders. #FirstNet #FirstResponders #FireFighters
