Especially in banking, products often stay much longer than the teams who build them. That’s why accessibility cannot depend only on good intentions or extra effort. Design partners used to scare me for a pretty good reason: they’re expensive. It's a two-way relationship. You get fast feedback and a motivated customer, but you also pay for it. With limited resources, it can easily become a defocus: small features, missing integrations, “just one more tweak” that pulls you away from the core. What’s changing is the cost of that extra work. With AI, delivering those small gaps is easier than ever - we can go from request to rollout in hours! ** And I don’t think we’ve updated our instincts yet. ** If we used to default to “not possible” because we couldn’t afford the distraction or spare the resources, we can now default to “let’s try” — ship small, learn fast, and keep focus.

Hey there! Yesterday at the Creative Code Berlin meetup I talked about the latest improvement I've made on CraZeApp, this time on the web version, about how to use JS libraries to do hand-tracking via the webcam in order to draw with the hand's movements I had explored this before with Kinect and LeapMotion but wanted to find a way that anyone can try without needing any specialized hardware I talked about my experience trying HandsFreeJS (a wrapper for MediaPipe models), or serving MediaPipeHands directly with TensorFlowJS, some advantages and disadvantages of each method, and I'm planning to try it too with ml5.js as well as exploring head and whole-body tracking, and the possibility of adding the same functionality on the iOS and Android native app versions You can try this on the web version of the app, then pressing on the "Camera Motion Control" button on the side menu https://lnkd.in/dtbUyBJH The best of all is that this works well on almost any mobile device, even on my iPad from 2016 with minimal input lag, showing how lightweight and performant these body motion tracking models are, even running in-browser! Accidental quality. That's what I call the hidden trap in traditional example-based tests. In my recent talk at Techcamp Hamburg, I spoke about how enumerating test cases creates a dangerous illusion of safety, while the real bugs hide in the blindspots we never think to check. Property-based testing flips the narrative: it searches for bugs instead of just testing for them. For several years now, I’ve started my Monday mornings with the Handpicked Berlin newsletter. In general, I am not reading a lot of newsletters, so Handpicked is quite special. A better user experience means people will use your app. I remember Tudor Crînguș telling me just that. If the #UX is bad, then people won't use your app. Or stay around long enough to even try what you've been building. It's true. And, once your Customers are gone, it's nearly impossible to get them back. I know. I worked for a startup that had to re-recruit customers - and it was very, very difficult to get them to come back for a second time. I've been a fan of the Crisp messaging platform - and we're using it. I noticed, on their dashboard, they have a banner atop the app, for "Product Updates" - and a button to "See New Changes". I think this is particularly effective, and nonobtrusive - to let customers know there are new changes, and then directing them where to learn more. I'm sure that these updates make it into Crisp's social media postings and newsletter, and community and more. Here's the example... What can one developer build in three weeks? At the end of December, I suddenly had time. A lot of time. So I ran an experiment: let Claude Code off the leash and see where it takes me. I didn't expect it to take me to LinkedIn. 🙃 In three weeks, it wasn't just a product that emerged. It was an entire ecosystem: API Mapper (an extension for WordPress and Joomla), plus the complete infrastructure. Website. API system. Console dashboard. DevTools. Documentation. Marketing tools. 26 services working together. And here's the wildest part: there's a self-healing system built in. When bugs appear in customer environments, they get automatically detected, fixed, and shipped with the next release. An AI-powered autoloop that keeps improving itself. Here's the thing. In 30 years of working with websites, tech, and every layer in between, I always avoided code. Code was machine language. And I'm human. Now I have a tool that fills this last gap. And you can bet I'm pretty happy about it. For the first time, I can combine everything I've learned over the past decades with new technology and see where it takes me. The song in the video is "Three Weeks", a farewell to the old days when we still worked the traditional way. There's a certain irony in that. I'm grateful this door opened. I've accepted this new reality. 😄 Now I'm happy to talk about API Mapper (which is turning out really great 🚀) and WootsUp!? in general and about how to use AI tools in ways that actually move you forward. Not as a toy. As a partner. Welcome to my journey.

💡 Agentic AI, MCPs, and the people behind the progress This week I had the chance to attend the Agentic AI Symposium in Munich, co-hosted by AWS, and it was one of those events that remind you why being part of this moment in tech feels so exciting. The conversations around agentic systems and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) really caught my attention, especially the shift from “tools that assist” to systems that collaborate. It’s a whole new paradigm: building workflows where AI doesn’t just respond but acts, learns, and coordinates. Hearing experts like Jochen Walter, Michael Rambold, Maximilian Schellhorn, Nadhya Polanco, Gabor Toth and Jennifer Grün share their perspectives on how agentic AI and MCPs could redefine SaaS and product ecosystems was truly eye-opening. But what stood out the most? The people. The amount of curiosity, openness, and genuine collaboration in the room was inspiring. It’s not just about building smarter systems — it’s about building smarter communities around them. I left with new insights, new ideas, and — maybe best of all — new connections.
