An Israeli startup, Gain, believes that the growing complexity of supply chains will push companies to move from automation to fully autonomous workforces. The Tel Aviv–based company revealed itself with $12 million in Seed funding to launch “AI Employees”—software agents that can handle procurement and operational workflows from start to finish. The funding round was led by The Garage, with support from BlueRed Partners and Bazan Group, Israel’s largest energy company. Israeli Startups have been battling on 7+ fronts in the last two years and winning. In our new H1’25 Startups Insights research we analyze the wins, trends and future outlook of the local industry. As always, counter-intuitive insights, deep analysis and an interactive platform for you to engage with (and export the data!). Link in the first comment 😊 My favorite insights - ➡️ Serial founders are taking over. In the last year they have increased their share of total rounds from 32.2% to 42.7%. A 33% increase in 12-months. Not $ amount, but literally the amount of transactions made. ➡️ Liquidity is (slowly) coming back. Not only mega exits like Wiz, Next Insurance & Melio. A 65% increase in <$100m exits HoH, a 77% increase compared to H1’24. ➡️ Employment continues to increase in pace from 4.6% to 4.8% yearly. Even with AI ‘coming for everyone's jobs’. While 3,500+ employees effectively transitioned to corporations due to increased M&A activity, previously stagnant sectors like Health & Data infra transition to employment growth of 3.3%-2.5%. ➡️ Revenue is king, and here to stay. This marks the second half in a row in which Sales departments contribute the most in employment growth, showcasing a 9.8% increase in headcount in the last 12-months. We have been mapping the Israeli Generative AI landscape since ChatGPT came out more or less. In the latest version, published on Thursday, we've mapped 342 startups that collective raised over $20 billion. More than half of the new companies we've added this year possess agentic AI capabilities. Can Israeli startups compete globally in Generative AI? Absolutely. 🇮🇱 Israel is emerging as a global GenAI hub, with the highest AI talent concentration (Stanford 2024) and a culture of deep tech innovation. 📈 The number of GenAI startups has nearly doubled in a year 🔐 The categories that saw the most growth this year were cyber and healthcare, followed by LLM ops and marketing tools 💡 Global VCs (like Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital and Insight Partners) are doubling down on elite Israeli talent, while global R&D centres including NVIDIA are planning multi billion expansion plans in Israel. ⚙️ Despite global headwinds, the Israeli startup ecosystem is proving resilient, resourceful, and opportunity-driven—especially in tackling GenAI’s toughest challenges: privacy, cost, trust, and explainability. Moving to the US could be a startup's best move    Relocation to the US significantly increases the chances for international startups to become unicorns, according to our research.    For example, 44 Israeli VC-backed startups that moved to the US reached unicorn status. By contrast, only 3 unicorns in a comparable US-based sample were based in Israel. This suggests that Israeli startups relocating to the US are about 15 times more likely to achieve unicorn status.    We observed similar trends for other countries:  – India-founded startups relocating to the US are 6 times more likely to become unicorns (12 vs 2).  – UK-founded companies see an 8.5 times greater chance of achieving unicorn status after moving to the US (17 vs 2).    These numbers indicate that the US offers unique advantages for high-potential startups from around the globe, particularly from countries like Israel, India, and the UK.    Thank you to the Stanford University Graduate School of Business Venture Capital Initiative for support.    Note: all unicorns in our sample must be US-based at the time of their first unicorn round.

Last night I attended Her Tel Aviv's "Getting Hired Panel: Crack The Code to Landing Your Dream Job" meetup at the Nefesh B'Nefesh TLV office. Panelists included HR and Recruitment professionals: 🌟 Merav Blum – Fullpath 🌟 Adi Gdalyahu– Payoneer 🌟 Rachel Leon – Eisner Amper 🌟 Adi Orenshtein – D-ID 🌟 Tslil Shraiber – Agoda RE Moderated by Sivan Hadari-Avneri, HER Tel Aviv Founder Among the many wonderful insights the panel gave, I wanted to share some of their best tips for writing your CV to land your dream job: ⚫ Always show and discuss your metrics and success numbers. ⚫ If you have a title that isn't a usual one you see in the industry, find one that's more common and use that in your CV, so HR knows where you fit in. ⚫ Simplify your language so that HR understands your abilities and isn't lost in complicated explanations. ⚫ Tailor your CV to the role or HR might pass, especially if your resume lists previous positions that are irrelevant. Also, avoid uploading your LinkedIn profile as your CV because it's too broad for HR to read through to understand why you might be a good fit. ⚫ Make sure the information on your CV (titles, dates, responsibilities) matches what you wrote on your LinkedIn profile so that it doesn't raise any red flags. ⚫ Keep your resume in English (this is more geared towards the tech world) so that the ATS can scan it. ⚫ No pictures. No age. No city. Keep CV to max 2 pages. Keep to normal font size. ⚫ If you have a gap in between jobs, especially if it was for maternity leave, or aliyah or some other reason, write the reason for the break on your CV so HR doesn't have to assume the worst. ⚫ Make sure your CV uses keywords or buzzwords from the job description in order for it to stand out. Interview and application tips: - Read up about the company and understanding the role. Come prepared to an interview with what you want the HR to know about you beyond your past jobs or skills. Show some personality. - If you apply through an employee refferal, don't apply through the job board or LinkedIn first. That employee will not get the referral bonus. - Don't be shy, don't press apply: instead of applying thru a LinkedIn job post, do some research and see if you can have an employee submit your CV for you. You will get farther doing that than on LinkedIn. Any other tips you think we should add to this already wonderful list?
