Carol L. reposted thisCarol L. reposted thisIf you’re a creative not using AI you’re fcked. Introducing Melius: the world’s first creative canvas for agents. Young, Arnav, and I built Melius on one resounding belief: To never let the workflow be a bottleneck for someone to express their imagination. AI slop is taking over the internet because: - Creative tools require excessive prompting and fail to keep generations consistent. Every revision feels like starting over - There’s no interface to connect every idea together - Stitching together AI generations take pro editing skills and platforms Melius solves this. With it you can: - Generate hundreds of stunning product images, UGC content, and winning ad variations with one prompt - Orchestrate a team of agents to set rules for every decision Melius makes, assign prompts to the best AI model, and generate a final render, all within the Melius canvas - Access Melius wherever you work, whether it’s through Claude via MCP, directly from Slack, or even via API or CLI Every creative AI agent is missing proactivity, except Melius. While you build, it: - Learns your brand guidelines and self corrects before you can see it - Works on multiple projects at the same time, delivering full asset campaigns by the time you finished prompting We’re entering a world where AI can create videos faster and at a higher quality than ever before. That’s why I believe everyone deserves the ability to create, regardless of their technical skills. As a creative at heart, I want everyone who is against and uneducated on AI to experience it like I did. That's the future we're building here. To celebrate this launch, we’re giving away a mega spreadsheet of 1,000 editors trained on AI video generation for hire. Comment below and we'll send it over. Carol L. reposted thisCarol L. reposted thisI’ve been a huge fan of this creator for years and I hacked my way into planning her dream bucket list experience in France. Here’s how we pulled some crazy sh*t to make sure her dreams didn’t just end up as memes. A few weeks ago, Cat Goetze (@askcatgpt) posted a reel asking for help with “hyperspecific unrealistic” asks for her upcoming Cannes Lions trip. At the top of the list? She wanted a lovely French man to whisk her away on a sunset moped ride along the French Riviera. I’m still not sure if the moped ride request was a meme, but either way, I was down to clown. I’ve personally been watching Cat’s content since before her CatGPT days, so working with her was a bucket list item for me too. As a hybrid human + AI concierge, we’ve handled our fair share of off-menu requests at Anecdote Travel, so we shot our shot and DM’d her, commented on her posts, emailed her — anything to get her attention. Regardless, I figured we had barely a 5% chance of success. We’re an early company, and this was our first time trying to work with such a popular influencer. Then 5 days before the trip, Cat’s team had finalized their plans and we got an email from her manager: “we're in!” We were off to the races, but setting this up was going to be a tall order — after all, Cannes is a small city and things were already booked up. Our concierge team suited up and jumped into action, calling dozens of folks across the south side of Paris to vet professional, charismatic drivers who could give Cat a Cannes tour to remember. After hours of calls, we found her a wonderfully French, Cannes-native driver to whisk her away to all the best spots. We knew this had to feel like a Hollywood movie, so the moped cuteness factor was paramount. After lots of back-and-forth WhatsApping, we finally found our ride: a beautiful Vespa in pastel green Verde Amabile. Just one problem: it was all the way over in Nice, 20 miles away. Our team thought outside the box and devised a plan to get the Vespa delivered to Cannes and the keys securely transferred to our driver. On the day of the ride, we coordinated with Cat’s team and the driver over our concierge chat to make sure everything went smoothly. They got stunning footage from their 2-hour Vespa ride, and we got to do what we love most: make special moments come true. This is why we hire humans rather than just throwing AI agents at the problem: while we usually focus on hotels, we can deliver on special experiences like this when it counts. Good luck getting your Openclaw agent to vet drivers without a central database, negotiate terms, curate Vespa inventory, and coordinate vehicle delivery from thousands of miles away. Last month, we lobbed something into the universe and something amazing came back. Let this serve as your sign to send that long shot email and let the universe run with it. And if you want to help us make more dreams come true like this, come join us. We’re hiring our head of marketing right now.

Carol L. reposted thisCarol L. reposted thisThis week marked my official 1-year "Google -versary" at YouTube! 🥳 A year ago, I took a leap and moved from Austin to NYC to join YouTube. Massive thanks to the teammates, mentors, and creators who’ve made this year so rewarding! My love for this company stems from both late night YouTube rabbit holes throughout my life and the first time I watched The Internship in 2013 (and yes, I’ve wanted a propeller hat ever since). Scaling to the size of YouTube’s creator ecosystem was a massive shift, but my five years in the creator and tech space gave me the foundation I needed and allowed me to step into this role with confidence! Getting to advocate for and work with creators every day is a dream job, and what better way to celebrate than heading to VidCon? Catch me on the floor this weekend celebrating 1 year down, and many more to go! 🥂 #YouTube #VidCon #CreatorEconomy #Google #Googleversary

Carol L. reposted thisCarol L. reposted thisAnecdote Travel is looking for a Head of Marketing! At Anecdote, we're building the world's most trusted travel concierge. We make travel planning seamless and stress-free — not by replacing people with AI, but by using AI to give superpowers to world-class human concierges who bring empathy, charisma, intuition, taste, and most importantly, care. In a world being rapidly enshittified by companies cutting corners, we believe great service is everything. As a result, customers trust us with their life’s most memorable trips and call us their “highest NPS experience in a decade.” Our head of marketing will fully own our marketing strategy and introduce the world to a radically better way to travel. We're looking for an outgoing leader who's owned and executed content campaigns before, and has splendid taste and aesthetic sense, zany ideas, and heinous screen time. This role is based in NYC. If you (or someone you know!) is a great fit, check out our JD and apply at https://lnkd.in/e8nQn7bM.

Carol L. shared thisAI agents are not going to replace software engineers yet, at least not when building Stripe integrations. The critical gap between our AI reality today and production-ready reality: we sorely lack a stable and realistic validation layer, especially when it comes to financial infrastructure where we require 100% accuracy. So to measure how AI is progressing on that last mile of value, Kevin Ho and I built a set of robust, replicable software engineering environments to benchmark models on their ability to build complete Stripe integrations. They mirror realistic integration scenarios: huge codebases, data migrations, breaking version changes, server and client-side API integrations, and even browser use. The range of results were extremely surprising, and even more exciting is how we now have an experimentation test bed to demonstrably improve how models integrate with Stripe. We’ve open-sourced the full benchmark suite in our AI toolkit: https://lnkd.in/em-aEwMF. Read the blog post: https://lnkd.in/eXAVSHRq.Can AI agents build real Stripe integrations? I was lucky enough to spend a summer there and have been looking for an excuse to come back ever since. It's home to some of the top entrepreneurship hubs in the country (USC, UCLA), has the highest density of talented creators, and is the entertainment epicenter of the world. This has been a long time coming and we're super excited! We're hosting our first event next week — a wellness experience in Venice. Venice Beach, 8/26. 🥂🌴 Sauna, cold plunge, jacuzzi, and a house full of founders and creators. Big shoutout to John for hosting us and Michelle for helping organize. - We'd love to meet you. As more corporations default to shoving lackluster AI onto all of us, we risk building a world where your every move is tracked by an entity trying to sell you or surveil you. I joined DuckDuckGo because I believe this generation will decide whether privacy survives. We deserve better from technology. Too much compute in AI is wasted on tracking our behaviors so billionaires can get richer off the way we buy. DuckDuckGo is proof that a business does not need to harvest data from its customers to survive. It's up to us to put an end to tech surveillance. I loved my nine years at Archetype. When I told them where I was headed, even they knew that DuckDuckGo was exactly where I needed to be. I’ve felt nothing but love and support from my colleagues and clients. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if any of this resonates with you. And for those of you wondering, I’m staying in NYC; DuckDuckGo is entirely remote. Let’s ducking go.

Carol L. reacted on thisCarol L. reacted on thisSliimeyhoney is closing and winding down operations. Let me explain: When I was 12, slime was the biggest trend in middle school. I remember touching my first slime at a friend’s birthday and becoming immediately entranced. I went home and begged my mom for borax and glue and soon, my first fluffy blue slime was born. I began posting my creations online without an idea of what I was doing. When I was 15, COVID left me at home with tons of free time. I posted my slimes on Tiktok and within one month, went completely viral. I was inundated with requests for more, propelling me to set up my online store. The business grew insanely quickly. We’d drop thousands of slimes every Saturday and they’d always sell out, sometimes within just minutes of dropping. I had my 10 best friends coming over every day after school laughing, joking, and playing games while we packed orders into the night. After high school, I fulfilled my lifelong dream of pitching on Shark Tank. We prepared over 5,000 slimes for this launch, more than double any restock we’d ever prepared. It sold out within seconds. I had to close the store down, and my team and I worked 100 hours a week for the next month preparing and shipping out those orders. It was simultaneously the best and most chaotic time of my life. We then expanded operations into our first 3,300 square foot warehouse. It was a dream come true. We were busier than ever, all while I was a full-time business economics student at UCLA. After graduating college, I went full-time on growing the company. I renovated our website, launched paid advertising, scaled our socials, and refined our operations. I took our company from a viral Tiktok sensation to a formal business with consistent sales channels. This past year, I’ve lived in our socials and P&L and have learned so much about what it takes to meaningfully scale a consumer company. This past month was our most profitable non-holiday month in years. We were just getting started. To the outside eye, it’s absurd to shut down a business so successful. But inside, I always knew I was made for more. This is my entire life’s body of work, but after 6 years, 1.4 million followers, $3.5M in sales, one Shark Tank appearance, and endless friendships, memories, and glue spilling on my clothes, I can proudly say I’ve accomplished what 15-year-old Mark set out to do, and I’m excited to move on to a new chapter. To my customers, family, friends, and employees: thank you. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for your time, hands, and commitment to making my dreams come true. Special shoutouts to my parents who sacrificed their home, weekends, time, and labor to make ungodly amounts of slime. The community and memories were the greatest part of this whole experience. Thank you for an incredible 6 years. Sliimeyhoney was just the beginning. - Forever & always, Mark the slime boy ❤️

Then we moved into xAI’s / Twitter’s building in Chelsea and felt much more grown up. This past month we just filled that one too (!) Carol L. reacted on thisCarol L. reacted on thisWhen I lost my job two years ago, I didn’t really know what to call myself. Comedian? Creator? Influencer? Founder?? Am I self-employed? …unemployed? …..between blessings??? I didn’t really feel like I belonged anywhere. I felt that way during my tech career, and much of my life. My first call was Colin Rocker. He’d just entered his “between blessings” era himself. But thankfully the guy was already in his next blessing. Crushing the creator biz game 🔥 I needed his wisdom. The first thing he told me to do was go to a creator event with him in the city that Thursday. Ehhh. I hate networking events. Wasn’t so sure. But I didn’t want to be “between blessings” for too long. So I RSVP’d “Yes” hoping a million dollars landed in my bank account the next day. 💰 I did not get to retire the next day. But Brett did send out a blast with notable creators attending. For some reason, I was on that list. I was honored! And also kind of confused. I definitely felt like a phony. I was not by any means earning a living on my content. People on this list actually teach people and make dough. I went to my first Creator Economy NYC event that Thursday, and since then, I can’t stop attending these things. These events have always been a blend of fun, welcoming, educational and uncomfortable. Listening to people at the top of their game talking shop is quite uncomfortable. You feel a million steps behind. At the same time, I looked around and knew I wasn’t alone. It was nice to feel like I was with “my people”. It made success not only feel reachable, but inevitable! Last week, I finally got to be one of the guys on stage talking shop. I still can’t grasp why people want to listen to me when I haven’t built a “real business” that sells products. Sometimes I feel like I play a child’s game. And I’m still not sure what my job title is. But one thing I am sure of: I am officially in my next blessing. And now 200 people get to have a nice view of my thighs on a Tuesday night 🙏🏽

AI is changing what “scale” actually means. In CTech by Calcalist’s 2026 VC Survey, Haim Bachar and Lee Ben-Gal share how we’re seeing the scaling metric shift - from headcount growth to output per person. This isn’t about doing more with less. It’s about building companies differently from day one - and rethinking how success is measured. See the full article below 👇

I'll post more about this later, but for startups looking for an ai boost to get your team aligned and moving, check out Travis Kahn's Growth Blueprint: https://lnkd.in/e4bcd_dG. Founders and teams pair with an agent to get real foundational work done - Business Model Canvas, Customer Profiles, Messaging Frameworks, and Go-to-Market in a centralized environment that shows how everyone's effort connects (and hopefully amplifies). This is very similar to the strategy work that I did in previous lives at BrandNewMatter and Algoworks, and it really shows me how fast ai is moving. The important thing to understand is that frameworks and platforms like this and r4 Technologies are powerful because the technology works with the PEOPLE you have in the loop. True force multipliers only occur when tech, data, and staff are aligned and empowered.

One underrated part of the YC W26 batch has been getting exposed to really great products built by other founders. A few companies whose tools I’ve genuinely loved using recently (I wasn't sponsored or promoted by any of these companies). Vercel Deployments, hosting, envs, previews — all the stuff I never want to think about again. It just works, and startup credits/accelerator support makes it easy to adopt early. Cursor The IDE experience is a game changer. Prompting directly in-editor, accepting changes, and easily reverting/rolling back makes iteration insanely fast. It’s become central to how I code and iterate. Anthropic Even with similar underlying models, Claude consistently gives better answers for my use cases. I’ll admit it — I hate living in the terminal (fake coder, I know), so prompting in a sidebar fits my workflow way better. Sometimes it hangs, but improvement on the frontend feels very real. SideShift, not YC, but necessary for B2C I have a love and hate relationship with SideShift because I love seeing the metrics on UGC creators, but finding good ones is a pain in the ass. Sophia and I spend way too much time sifting through applicants who aren't really worth the time to invest in. Supabase (YC S20) Auth, storage, database, RLS — all in one place and actually pleasant to use. Spinning things up and shipping is fast. RLS policies alone saved me from a lot of pain compared to other stacks I’ve used. YC credits/benefits helped early scaling. PostHog (YC W20) Product analytics that actually help you understand user behavior: event tracking, funnels, feature usage, session replays. I didn't know what PostHog was before starting YC, and now I can't imagine building without it. Mintlify — (YC W22) Docs that actually look good. Clean UI, fast setup, and it makes writing and maintaining documentation way less painful. I enjoy prompting AI to help flush out my language. ElevenLabs Insanely realistic voice generation. We’re planning to use it heavily for ad creatives and rapid iteration on audio without needing studio time, and YC startup credits make experimentation affordable. Brex (YC W17) Startup banking and cards done right. Literal best customer service (above Amex plat and Capital One Venture X concierge.) Would gladly park next round's fund in here with these guys as well. Also, the DashPass that comes with the bank account feels absolutely so amazing. The feeling of getting a BOGO deal and it being on Brex, amazing. Clerky (YC S11) Incorporation, equity, and legal docs without the usual headache. I still have to redeem my Clerky refund, oops, but I'll get that credit back when I have the time to sit down and redeem, haha. Linear I worked at McKinsey touching Jira boards before and wanted to die. Linear is just miles easier to deal with. My DMs are open to founders building tooling! We're building a platform to revolutionize the collectibles and trading card game industry and love trying things out.
