Most developers are experimenting with AI coding tools. Few have developed reliable ways of working with them in real projects. Join the Systematic AI Coding Workshop, sponsored by Open VSX, on 23 June in Brussels to explore approaches to AI development. Learn practical approaches to: ➡️ Build repeatable AI-assisted development workflows ➡️ Create better context for higher-quality AI output ➡️ Review and validate generated code ➡️ Work effectively across tools like Cursor, Copilot, and Claude Code Participants of the workshop will receive a digital completion badge via Credly and access to post-workshop learning materials. 🎟️ Save your seat: https://hubs.la/Q04hGg7d0 #opensource #AI #developers #Cursor #Copilot #ClaudeCode

As frontier AI accelerates vulnerability discovery and exploitability analysis, Europe needs more than awareness. It needs trusted, coordinated capacity to find, fix, validate, and deploy security improvements across the software supply chain. In his latest blog, Mike Milinkovich explores why AI-enabled open source security should be treated as shared digital resilience infrastructure, and what this means for critical sectors, regulation, and Europe’s strategic autonomy. Through our partnership with the Alpha-Omega Project, the #EclipseFdn has been part of Anthropic’s Project Glasswing since its inception. To our knowledge, we are currently the only EU-domiciled organisation participating in the initiative. Read the blog 👉 https://hubs.la/Q04hglWh0 #opensource #security #cybersecurity

🌍 Open source has no borders. Neither does innovation. Sayantika Banik’s journey is a reflection of that spirit: what began as a passion for travel became a global path of collaboration, learning, and contribution through open technology ecosystems. Across communities, cultures, and continents, she discovered how open source creates opportunities for people everywhere to connect, build, and innovate together. Today, she leads DataJourneyHQ, an open source-first company focused on AI-powered data infrastructure and design-first software systems. The #EclipseFdn is, to our knowledge, currently the only EU-domiciled organisation participating in Anthropic's Project Glasswing, an initiative giving selected critical software operators and maintainers early access to frontier AI for defensive security work. Through our partnership with the Alpha-Omega Project, we have been involved in Glasswing since its inception, giving us a unique vantage point on how frontier AI capabilities are reshaping software security and resilience. Frontier AI is changing the economics of software security. The same capabilities that can help defenders identify vulnerabilities, generate patches, and accelerate remediation can also lower the cost of exploitation. For Europe, this makes open source security and rapid patch deployment a matter of digital resilience. In his blog, Mike Milinkovich explains why Europe needs trusted, shared defence capacity at machine speed and why the #EclipseFdn’s participation in Project Glasswing is strategically important. Ally Gentry explores in this article for Efficiently Connected, Inc., how the #EclipseFdn, Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (AISBL), Liberium, Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation, and others are positioning open source and #dataspaces as part of Europe’s long-term digital infrastructure strategy. One of the strongest points raised throughout the discussions at Open Community Experience was that dependency is not accidental. Every procurement decision shapes future leverage, flexibility, and control. As software costs rise and platform concentration deepens, organisations are beginning to reassess what sovereignty actually means in practice. The article also highlights the growing role of dataspaces as mechanisms for trusted collaboration across industries. Automotive, aerospace, energy, and public infrastructure projects are already exploring how interoperable governance models can enable data sharing without surrendering ownership or control. 📖 Read the full article: https://hubs.la/Q04fXLCy0 #DigitalSovereignty #opensource #GaiaX #OCX26
