Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin's contract with Rogue expired on Friday, the player has announced.

In a Twitter post, the 29-year-old wrote that he is currently looking for a new team to represent and is also open to discussing business opportunities as he assesses his options after Rogue pulled the plug on their CS:GO squad.

Hiko is the only player from the last Rogue line-up who remains teamless, with Mathias "⁠MSL⁠" Lauridsen and Nikolaj "⁠niko⁠" Kristensen having returned to Denmark to play for OpTic, and Daniel "⁠vice⁠" Kim and Hunter "⁠SicK⁠" Mims having been recruited by Cloud9 and Complexity, respectively.

Hiko is considering his options after leaving Rogue

During his long tenure with Rogue, which lasted almost two years, Hiko most notably helped the team to qualify for the FACEIT Major - where they went out 1-3 in the New Challengers Stage - and to reach the final at DreamHack Open Austin 2018.

The news of Rogue's players going their separate ways came as a shock to many as the team had only recently qualified for StarSeries i-League Season 7 and for the ECS Season 7 Finals, reaching the fifth spot in the North America regional ranking. The team also held an ESL Pro League license, which was since transferred to Luminosity.

So sad for this former top10 player. I'd love to see Hiko be able to make a return to the top of the scene. It's so strange how all these old legends are finding the new meta in CSGO difficult. I feel like CSGO has become so structured and ridged that these old school stars just couldn't adapt. It all happened at the same time as well. It's not a coincidence that players who were dominating in 2013-2015 suddenly started to drop off in 2016 and by 2017 were just average.
