Summer and Fall in Wisconsin are, mercifully, election-free. But as always there is much to do. Grassroots North Shore is helping to defeat MAGA Republican Bryan Steil, representative in the 1st Congressional District, and MAGA Republican Derrick Van Orden, representative in the 3rd Congressional District.  There are two ways to participate:

1. For the calls into CD1, Bryan Steil's district, we will use a script Grassroots North Shore develops and phones for strong Democratic women who failed to vote in at least one of the last four elections (2025, 2024, 2022, 2020). The gist of the message we want to convey is this:

"We all value fairness, free elections, and our freedoms. But the Budget Act cuts food aid for struggling and hungry Americans and it slashes Medicaid and parts of Obamacare (the Affordable Care Act), making ordinary, everyday living harder for working Americans and senior citizens while showering tax cuts on the very wealthiest Americans. The budget takes from the poor and middle classes and gives to the millionaires and billionaires so they can enjoy huge tax cuts in perpetuity. 

"Your representative, Bryan Steil, voted to adopt this Big Ugly Budget. Now you must let him know how you feel about these harmful provisions. Call his office and tell him you want the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP food aid repealed!"

2. To call constituents in CD 3, Derrick Van Orden's district, use the Democratic Party's Virtual Phone Bank (VPB) . The party offers phone banks on Thursdays from 5:00 - 7:00pm through August 14. Then on Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, — with three shifts each of those days. And if you are unfamiliar with phone banks or using a VPB, the staff of the party will train you at the start of the shift.
