Student Safety
Student Safety Reminder

Our supervision of students begins when the doors open at 8:30 a.m., and the school day starts at 8:30 a.m.

Students may arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

After 8:45 a.m., all students must enter through the main front doors on Nicholson St.

Any student arriving after 9:00 a.m. must stop at the main office to obtain a late pass.

For safety reasons, please do not send your child to school before 8:30 a.m., as there is no staff supervision prior to that time.

Playground Supervision & Dismissal Reminder

Dismissal time is 3:15 p.m.

Once your child is dismissed and picked up from their teacher, supervision becomes the responsibility of you or your designee. Please note:

The playground is not supervised by school staff after dismissal.

All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult if they remain on school grounds.

If your child is approved for "self-dismissal", remind them to walk directly home or to the location you have designated. Students should not remain on school grounds without an adult.

DCPS requires all students who "self-dismiss" to have a signed permission slip on file in the main office. If you need a form for your student, please contact your child’s teacher or the main office at 202-722-5670.
