Configure your sales tax settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/connectors\/woocommerce\/configuration#configure-tax-settings\"><\/a>If you previously configured these tax settings in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dashboard.stripe.com\/settings\/tax\">Stripe Dashboard<\/a>, the values populate automatically in the Stripe Tax connector. You can edit the values in the connector and the changes automatically update in your Stripe Dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the&nbsp;<strong>Stripe Tax<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, under&nbsp;<strong>Configure your sales tax settings<\/strong>, complete the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter your head office address, which is your company\u2019s legal address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose your default&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/tax\/tax-codes\">product tax code<\/a>, which allows Stripe to calculate the tax rate for categories of products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>On the&nbsp;<strong>Tax<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, you can decide if the prices you set for your products are inclusive or exclusive of tax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/connectors\/woocommerce\/configuration#tax-registrations\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"tax-registrations\">4. Manage tax registrations<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/connectors\/woocommerce\/configuration#tax-registrations\"><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sales tax calculation isn\u2019t applied&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/tax\/zero-tax#situations-where-stripe-calculates-zero-tax\">until you add registrations<\/a>&nbsp;for jurisdictions where you need to collect tax. Our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/tax\/monitoring\">monitoring tool<\/a>&nbsp;can help you understand where you might be registered or need to register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re already registered in certain jurisdictions and want to start collecting tax immediately, you can add those registrations to your configuration. You can only add tax registrations for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/tax\/supported-countries#supported-countries\">supported countries and registration types<\/a>. Some jurisdictions might require additional information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"add-tax-registration\">Add tax registration<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/b.stripecdn.com\/docs-statics-srv\/assets\/fcc3a1c24df6fcffface6110ca4963de.svg\" width=\"13\" height=\"13\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the&nbsp;<strong>Stripe Tax<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, under&nbsp;<strong>Tax registrations<\/strong>, click&nbsp;<strong>Add new<\/strong>. Choose the jurisdiction from the dropdown, then click&nbsp;<strong>Save changes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"delete-tax-registration\">Delete tax registration<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/b.stripecdn.com\/docs-statics-srv\/assets\/fcc3a1c24df6fcffface6110ca4963de.svg\" width=\"13\" height=\"13\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To delete a registration, hover over the registration, then click&nbsp;<strong>End immediately<\/strong>. To delete multiple registrations, select them from the list, then click&nbsp;<strong>End immediately<\/strong>&nbsp;from the&nbsp;<strong>Bulk actions<\/strong>&nbsp;dropdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/connectors\/woocommerce\/configuration#configure-product-tax-code\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"configure-product-tax-code\">5. Configure product tax codes and customer tax settings (optional)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can configure tax codes for your products or tax settings for your customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"product-tax-codes\">Product tax codes<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/b.stripecdn.com\/docs-statics-srv\/assets\/fcc3a1c24df6fcffface6110ca4963de.svg\" width=\"13\" height=\"13\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Stripe Tax can calculate the tax for each of your products based on the product tax code that you assign to it. If you don\u2019t set a code per product, Stripe Tax uses the default&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/tax\/tax-codes\">product tax code<\/a>&nbsp;that you selected during setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To set a tax code per product:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to&nbsp;<strong>Products<\/strong>&nbsp;and select a product from the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the&nbsp;<strong>Edit product<\/strong>&nbsp;page, in the&nbsp;<strong>Product data<\/strong>&nbsp;section, select a&nbsp;<strong>Stripe Tax &#8211; Product tax code<\/strong>&nbsp;for the product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Update<\/strong>&nbsp;to save your selection.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"customer-tax-settings\">Customer tax settings<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/b.stripecdn.com\/docs-statics-srv\/assets\/fcc3a1c24df6fcffface6110ca4963de.svg\" width=\"13\" height=\"13\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Stripe Tax can calculate the tax for each of your customers based on their tax status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To update a user\u2019s taxability:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to&nbsp;<strong>Users<\/strong>&nbsp;and select a user from the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under&nbsp;<strong>Stripe Tax Exemptions<\/strong>, select a&nbsp;<strong>Tax Status<\/strong>&nbsp;option for the user.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Update user<\/strong>&nbsp;to save your selection.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn more about how the customer\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/tax\/zero-tax#exempt-customers\">tax status<\/a>&nbsp;impacts sales tax calculation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/connectors\/woocommerce\/configuration#configure-product-tax-code\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/connectors\/woocommerce\/configuration#collect-taxes\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"collect-taxes\">6. Collect taxes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.stripe.com\/connectors\/woocommerce\/configuration#collect-taxes\"><\/a>To start collecting taxes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the&nbsp;<strong>WooCommerce<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>General<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, select&nbsp;<strong>Enable tax rates and calculations<\/strong>, then click&nbsp;<strong>Save changes<\/strong>. This setting enables rate configuration and sales tax calculation during the checkout process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>[Not required since version 4.6.0]<\/strong> On the <strong>WooCommerce &gt; Tax<\/strong> tab, verify that you enabled <strong>&#8220;Automated taxes&#8221;<\/strong>, then click&nbsp;<strong>Save changes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the&nbsp;<strong>WooCommerce<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Stripe Tax<\/strong>&nbsp;tab, select&nbsp;<strong>Enable Stripe Tax<\/strong>, then click&nbsp;<strong>Save changes<\/strong>.
