    An Arianespace Vega failed to put the Spanish SEOSAT-Ingenio earth observation satellite and the French TARANIS research satellite into orbit. The failure occurred during the first burn of the Vega's AVUM upper stage.

    India has conducted its first orbital launch of 2020. A PSLV-DL rocket orbited the EOS-01 (a.k.a. RISAT-2BR2) radar earth observation satellites and 9 cubesats for KLEOS, Spire and Nanoavionics.

    Another small orbital launch vehicle has conducted its maiden flight. The privately developed Chinese Ceres-1 successfully put the Tianqi-11 satellite into orbit. It consists of 3 solid fuel stages and one liquid fueled upper stage.

    No indication of collision. 👍 CZ-4C R/B passed over LeoLabs Kiwi Space Radar 10 minutes after TCA. Our data shows only a single object as we'd hoped, with no signs of debris. We will follow up in the coming days on Medium with a full in-depth risk assessment of this event!

    As a reminder: Parus navigation satellites are ~2 meters in diameter and have a gravity gradient boom extending to 17 meters. And both objects are not able to change their orbits.

    The upcoming close conjunction between the Russian Kosmos-2004 (Parus) satellite and an Chinese CZ-4C upper stage on 16 Oct remains very concerning. The predicted distance is ~12 meters with a collision probability >10%.
