Text-tures

This is a relatively new group of paintings in which I’ve begun to explore methods of combining text and canvas in a somewhat “sculptural” manner. I have some exciting ideas on how I’d like to proceed with this concept. Transcriptions #30 was actually the first of the Text-tures.

Free Play Paintings

These paintings began as an opportunity to freely play with paint. I was seeking a diversion from the time intensive Transcriptions series. Each piece begins with unpainted strips or scraps of raw canvas, which is then attached to the stretched canvas with gesso.
