Angola: Vulnerable Families Benefit From Food Aid in Cuanza Norte

Dondo — At least 120 vulnerable families, registered by the Cambambe municipality benefited from food aid allocated by the provincial Cuanza Norte government.

According to the municipal director for Social Action, Family and Woman's Promotion, Fátima Manuel de Almeida, the families are part of a total of 884 families identified in the municipality, living in vulnerable conditions.

The official also said priority goes to the elderly, physically disabled and helpless people, who are being allocated various products, especially soap, vegetable oil, corn flour, rice and spaghetti.

Fatima Almeida, who did not specify the quantities of products allocated to the municipality, said they are too small to meet the need for assistance of the region, adding that families who are not benefited at this stage may get them after.

Angola Red Cross (CVA) also delivered on Thursday five tons of rice to Cuanza Norte government to aid the victims of the rains and other people in need.
