Maun — Maun Administration Authority (MAA) will hold a series of activities to mark the launch of the national month of prayer against HIV/AIDS slated for September 1.
The launch will start with a march from the Ngami Toyota junction to Maun Sports Complex in the morning.
Briefing councilors about the activity during a sub-council meeting this week, MAA chairman Mr Mmoedi Modiegi said the month of prayer would be a build-up event for International AIDS Day commemorations to be held in Maun on December 1.
Mr Modiegi observed that the national month of prayer was the religious sector's contribution towards fighting the spread of HIV/AIDS.
He noted that the event would be officially opened by the Minister of Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration Mr Nonofo Molefhi.
The national month of prayer will be commemorated under the theme, "Through God, HIV/AIDS must fall - it ends with me".
MAA will also hold a seminar for different groups including youth, women and men on August 31 as an activation for the national month of prayer launch.
