Hello Lakewood Friends, 

How is it already August 12? I am not done with being outside, lounging at the lake, or sleeping in. :) However, all good things must come to an end, right? We are excited to see all of our Lizards soon and the possibilities that each new school year brings. This year, we will keep a tight focus on student achievement, social and emotional learning and continuing to strengthen the Lakewood community. Our goal is to ensure all students are safe academically, emotionally and socially in a culturally responsive and equitable learning environment. As the year begins, we will share more about what this looks like and how you can help support us. 

As of today, the office at Lakewood is officially open, except for August 28th. We will all be in training. We wanted to reach out to share some important dates, reminders and announcements.

August 28, 5:30-6:30 Meet and Greet

Students will have a chance to meet their teachers.  Notice of class placements will be sent out via email on Tuesday, August 27.

September 3, 8:53 a.m.-3:59 p.m. First Day of School

September 19, 6:30 p.m. Curriculum Night

September 25, 1:29 Early Release Day

Reminders: 

2019-20 Enrollment

You should have received a communication via email from backtoschool@a2schools.org with instructions on how to access the system for your student’s enrollment for the upcoming school year. The email contained a link, with instructions and a secure "snapcode" that links directly to your student's information. If you have already set up an InfoSnap account in a prior year, you should have been able to reuse that account and the snapcode to begin this year's forms. As a reminder, all students entering young fives, kindergarten, seventh grade, or new to the district will also need to present up-to-date immunization records to the office prior to the first day of school. If you did not receive this email, or haven’t completed the enrollment process, please do so immediately. This affects staffing, class placement, enrollment, etc. If you need assistance, contact Student Accounting @ 734-994-2223.

Noon Hour Supervisors Needed
