Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Ms Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will lead a march for peace in Philippi, Western Cape. The march will culminate in an inter-generational dialogue on peace and security and how the community, both young and old, can work together to ensure a peaceful living environment.
The day's activities is intended to commemorate Nelson Mandela International Day as a way of facilitating peace building and harmonious living in a community ravaged by social ills like drug and alcohol abuse, gender-based violence, and gangsterism.
The dialogue will allow women, youth and persons with disabilities living in Philippi to come together to discuss how the community can form social compacts to heal from the traumatic events that have taken place in the area.

Venue: The march will start on Symphony Road (Ward 88). Community members will join the march at Stock Road and Nqwangi Road. The march will end at Philippi East Community Hall (Ntloyiya Street)
