Now blogging at diego's weblog. See you over there! About me I am VP of Engineering and Chief Architect at Ning, Inc. (previously known as 24HL), a Palo Alto-based start-up working on a new consumer Internet service. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science (in the area of self-organizing networks) from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. In early 2003, I co-founded clevercactus, ltd., which worked on multi-platform collaboration software until it closed its doors in late 2004/early 2005. I was previously a teaching assistant at TCD's Computer Science department.
And just in case it wasn't clear... I graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA where I did research in the Software Engineering Research Group. I worked at Fuego Corp. before going to the US, then after graduation I was a Research Associate in the Personal Systems Group
at IBM's TJ Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, New York, and later at Mindstech International
in Silicon Valley.
This is my personal website and blog. The views expressed here are mine alone and do not necessarily reflect those of my employer. My research interests include large-scale software systems, self-organizing and wireless networks, complexity theory, dynamical systems, and molecular nanotechnology among others. I frequently write on my weblog, d2r. I enjoy writing fiction (for that see my ongoing experiment on merging narrative and weblogs on Plan B -- a blognovel) and, needless to say, a good Pint and good conversation :-) You can contact me at Publications
I am also co-inventor of several patents related to my work at IBM Research and Minds and Technologies, Inc. Copyright © Diego Doval 2002-2011.
