Caz Mclaughlin: Isn't it sad...……. It couldn't happen on the 1st of April as that would have shown the ultimate decision makers to be April Fools...………....

So they opted for the 2nd of April instead. No prize for guessing how that makes os Google+ 'ers feel...……….. :-/

Thanks for keeping us smiling, Chris with your beautiful pics. I can safely say every single one of them brought a smile to my dial. Cheers, Caz.

Houston Willis: AZ. Is beautiful, never had to shovel sunshine. People can be unhealthy anywhere. It's your choice how you eat, and exercise. Or sit around eat Oreo's and play video games. In AZ. You should blame it on the weather. In the summer we just go hiking early in the mornings.

Efficient Neural Architecture Search (ENAS) "employs reinforcement learning to build convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and recurrent neural networks (RNNs)." The authors proposed a predefined neural network to generate new neural networks guided by a reinforcement learning framework using macro and micro search. That's right -- a neural network building another neural network."

"In ENAS, there are 2 types of neural networks involved: Controller -- a predefined RNN, which is a long short-term memory (LSTM) cell, and child model -- the desired CNN for image classification."

"The controller controls or directs the building of the child model's architecture by 'generating a set of instructions' (or, more rigorously, making decisions or sampling decisions) using a certain search strategy. These decisions are things like what types of operations (convolutions, pooling etc.) to perform at a particular layer of the child model. Using these decisions, a child model is built."

"This particular child model is then trained to convergence (~95% training accuracy) using stochastic gradient descent to minimise the expected loss function between the predicted class and ground truth class (for an image classification task)."

"Then, we update the controller's parameters using REINFORCE, a policy-based reinforcement learning algorithm, to maximise the expected reward function which is the validation accuracy."

Please accept this gift from me to you as i say farewell.

https://www.silenttheory.net Visions of the Sublime (a free book for you).
I have written the book in thanks for your support. Please feel free to take, and give to your friends.

The first people valued feathers from birds and assigned them symbolic and ceremonial importance. Bush folk also valued them, wearing a “gift” in leather hats to bush dances and then to battle fronts, when war called.

It was a different time. Practical clothes were made at home. Three changes of clothing was thought profligate.

Pride of place in a home was in the cool drawing room containing a piano. Around the room sat small reminders of the land: carved emu eggs; a book of bush poems; vases of dried native flowers and a display of feathers (sometimes still attached to formal hats, of both men and women). These were placed well out of reach of inquisitive children and only worn on formal occasions: a trip to the races; a bush dance; a baptism; a wedding or a funeral.

And, for fun, the people of that far away time wore them when they traveled to waterfalls.

Not every feather is a gift. Instead a gift is a happenstance. It is a feather left on a path by a bird: an emu; a bush turkey; a rosella; a cockatoo; or, most rare of all, a lyrebird. A feather taken from a dead bird can never be a gift.

In my culture, the culture of the Australia bush, a gift gains value and import according to how many times it is given. From friend to friend. From parent to child. The story of a gift and its re-giving is often told. A gift can not be bought nor sold. How we forget that the world was not once just about money and commerce.

When you regive this gift to your friends remember the gifts you gave and received on G+. Thank you.

The Psychology Behind Millennial Bashing - coined in 2011, 'juvenoia' pertains to a perceived corruption of the youth.

"Parents are more invested in their children's identities then their children are; this is because children are trying establish their identities, whereas parents are trying to build a legacy."

Get an exclusive glimpse to Mr. Lagerfeld's last venue to the CHANEL Fall/Winter 2018/19 Haute Couture show. S W I P E to my teaser here on Instagram >> https://www.instagram.com/p/BuOoIwLhljQ/ << by www.instagram.com/andreajankeofficial/

It was a Lagerfeld ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’, a universal artwork, the kind we have come to expect from him over the years. Here, fashion is not just a collection of clothes for the coming season, but a moment in time, an event, and an expression of a feeling for the future.

Karl Lagerfeld lived for the future; he was not one to dwell in the past. Instead, his antenna was attuned to what was to come from the beginning of his time at CHANEL. As a student of history, one with an immense knowledge of eras, people and places, Mr Lagerfeld understood its sweep all too well. He also understood his place within it – alongside Mademoiselle Chanel, Mr Lagerfeld would not stand idly by, he was there to shape it. And shape it he did.

With Love from Paris, Andréa - https://www.instagram.com/p/BuOoIwLhljQ/ - enjoy!
