Angola/Botswana: Afrocup - Petro Eliminate Orapa of Botswana

Luanda — Petro de Luanda defeated Botswana's Orapa United 2-0 in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the African Confederation Cup played in Gaborone.

After winning by 4-0 the first-leg match at home on November 28, in the capital of the country, the Angolan vice champions repeated the feat with goals from Job and Tiago Azulão, at 51 and 53 minutes.

With this double triumph Petro de Luanda, coached by the Spanish-Brazilian Beto Bianchi, move on in the qualification fight.

As for the Champions League, Angola's 1º de Agosto were eliminated on Wednesday by AS Otoho of Congo Brazzaville by 0-2, in the second leg of the qualifying round for the group stage of the competition. With this premature elimination, the Angolan representative in the biggest continental competition of football clubs is far from the feat of the last edition, in which they reached the semi-finals, having been eliminated by the Esperance of Tunis squad.
