Kenya: Gor Mahia Midfielder Joins Rivals Tusker

Former Gor Mahia midfielder Kevin "Ade" Omondi has joined Tusker on a two-year deal.

Omondi is one of the four players released by the SportPesa Premier League champions after the completion of last season.

Others are Wesley Onguso, who crossed over to Posta Rangers, Burundian Karim Nizigiyimana and Innocent Wafula.

At Tusker, he will compete for a starting position with last year's Most Valuable Player Michael Madoya, Amos Asembeka and Jackson Macharia in the number 10 position.

This becomes Omondi's fifth club on the local scene having previously featured for Sofapaka, Kariobangi Sharks and second tier outfit Kenya Police.

The brewers, who finished third in the previous campaign, play Sony Sugar away in the first game of the new season on Saturday.

Former Sofapaka defender Rodgers Aloro, Bill Oporia (Ushuru), Madoya from Zoo Kericho and Sammy Mejja from Thika United are some of the new acquisitions at the Ruaraka-based side.
