South Africa: Load Shedding Continues On Thursday

Eskom has implemented Stage 2 load shedding today.

"Customers are reminded to treat all electrical points as live during load shedding. Eskom would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused," said Eskom.

The power utility implemented load shedding for a fourth consecutive time this week following a shortage of capacity due to generating units out of service due to breakdowns.

Rotational load shedding is likely to continue until 10pm, with the utility's maintenance teams continuing to work hard to bring the units back to service.

Stage 2 calls for 2 000MW to be rotationally load shed nationally at a given period.

Customers can access load shedding schedules on the utility's website (http://loadshedding.eskom.co.za). Eskom customers can also contact the customer contact centre on 0860 037 566.
