As a part of the MoU between CAF and UEFA, officials from both confederations attended the first leg of the CAF Champions League semifinal on Tuesday 2 October 2018 between Al Ahly of Egypt and ES Setif of Algeria in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
CAF Secretary General Amr Fahmy, deputy Secretary General Anthony Baffoe and Director of Competitions Samson Adamu were among the audience, alongside UEFA Secretary General Theodore Theodoridis, Senior Manager of UEFA Interclubs competitions Stephane Anselmo and Chief development officer Ioan Lupesco.
The gesture came as a part of the cooperation program between CAF and UEFA which aims at development and promotion of the game in Africa.
