Local industry and institutions of higher learning have been urged to create synergies that will contribute to the building of the country's economy.
Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) pro vice chancellor Dr Maxwell Chanakira urged business to partner tertiary institutions to grow the economy and complement Government's efforts to achieve the middle-income economy by 2030.
Dr Chanakira made the remarks during the inaugural ABB Motors Strobe Billboard and Visual Design competitions held at HIT on Friday last week. He said the competition, which drew participants from HIT and Harare Polytechnic, was a sign of confidence that business has in the institutions.
"This kind of sponsorship also shows the confidence that the local industry has on our learning institutions," said Dr Chanakira.
