Northern State — On Sunday, teachers of Hassan El Bayli secondary school for boys at El Dabba in Sudan's Northern State entered into an open-ended strike in protest against the delay in payment of their salaries.
They say that they will only lift the strike once their salaries are paid on time, including a refund of monies deducted from the salaries for July and August.
The representative of teachers, Yasser Hassan, told Radio Dabanga that amounts ranging from SDG 100 to SDG 200 ($3.55 to $7.10*) were unjustifiably deducted from salaries for the months of July and August from each teacher according their rank.
