Nairobi — President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Thursday set to receive a report on police reorganization and other proposed reforms.
The Head of State will receive the report from Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet at the Kenya School of Government where senior police officers have been meeting.
"The re-organisation includes merging the Kenya Police and Administration Police for efficient service delivery and seamless operations," a senior officer said.
President Kenyatta had given both Matiangi and Boinnet a month to come up with a framework to increase the efficiency and service delivery within the Police Service.
"I am really grateful to our President because he is very concerned about our welfare here in the police service," Matiangi said on Wednesday at a meeting with the officers at the Kenya School of Government.
