Nigeria: 500,000 Osun Farmers to Attend Agritech Exhibition

Osun State Cooperatives Farmers Union has reiterated its commitment to successful hosting of the first international agricultural exhibition and conference tagged Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 in Nigeria.

The union, at a meeting to endorse the Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 event in Osogbo at the weekend, said they would mobilise their over 500,000 members in the state to the event.

The farmers said that while all farmers would be mobilised for the programme scheduled for November 20, at the Osogbo Township Stadium, they called on the organisers to ensure that different agricultural companies are equally mobilised to exhibit their products and services at the event.

"We discovered that agriculture has gone beyond the way we practise it in Nigeria and Africa.

Farmers in Osun State are more than 500,000 dealing in different sub-sectors of agriculture. We are large scale farmers and agriculture is our business," president of the union, Alhaji Olayiwola Adeshina, said.

Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018 is an exhibition on agriculture, farm machinery, dairy, poultry, water technology, livestock equipment, agriculture processing technologies and environmental control.

It will be organised by the state government, Fesco Agalu Enterprises Nigeria Limited, Kenes Exhibition of Israel, organiser of Agritech Israel and SIFAX Group of Companies.

Executive Director, Agritech Nigeria Osun 2018, Mr. Yahaya Majeed, commended the executives of union for endorsing the programme and the promise of mobilising their members to attend the event.
