What is a Creator Ci40?
The Creator Ci40 IoT hub is a powerful development board powered by a snappy MIPS based cXT200 chip that runs OpenWrt out of the box. Apart from the dual-core, multi-threaded CPU and DDR3 RAM memory, the Ci40 dev board packs an impressive connectivity package, including 802.15.4 6LoWPAN,Ensigma 802.11 ac 2×2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. Having the wireless base-band integrated on chip reduces overall power consumption and boosts performance for IoT applications.

How do I get started with my Ci40?

How can I power my Ci40?
The Ci40 can be powered in one of two ways: using the microUSB port or with a power supply. If powering the board alone, e.g. using as a hub, then it can be powered via USB without a need for an additional external power supply.
You can also get more power by using a mains-USB plug such as from you mobile phone. If not connected to a USB source or if using many periferal including the expansion ports (MikroE Clicks or RaspberryPi B+), you will probably need a power supply.
Using a power supply, we recommmend a 9V 3A DC PSU.
What power supply does my Ci40 need?
Ci40 runs at 5V. A 9v input is stepped down from 9v to 5v so that a general purpose 9v dc supply can be used to power the board. The buck convertor will accept a range of voltages up to 12V but we recommend 9v is used. Most versions of the board will cut out at around 6.9V input.
What is the user name and password for the Ci40?
The username for OpenWRT is root
There is no default password
What's running on Ci40 out-of-the-box?
The Ci40 ships pre-installed with a U-Boot bootloader (in NOR) and OpenWrt (flashed in one of the 2 NAND partitions).
What pin-outs does the Ci40 have?
Ci40 has a range of inputs and outputs available. Check the hardware user guide pdf in our hardware guide section.
What is Marduk?
Marduk is the codename for Ci40 used by our software engineering teams. You are most likely to see it referred to in software readme files. According to Wikipedia, Marduk was also a god from Mespotamia associated with water, vegetation, judgement and magic.
What is Pistachio?
Pistachio is the code name used by our software engineering teams for the MIPS based cXT200 chip used on the Ci40. You see it in the console when the bootloader is running. You are most likely to see it refereed to in software readme files and developer documentation.
What is Vienna?
Vienna is the codename for Ci40 used by our hardware engineering teams. You are most likely to see it referred to in Hardware guide or schematics.
