Abu al-'As ibn Umayyah

Abu al'As ibn Umayya was the son of Umayya ibn Abd Shams.
As his sons are mentioned:
- Uthman ibn Abu-al-Aas, a companion of Muhammad.
- Affan, father of Uthman.
- al-Hakam,[1] the father of Marwan I, an Umayyad Caliph.
He also had a daughter:
- Saffya bint Abi al-A'as, who bore a daughter to Abu Sufyan named Ramlah bint Abi Sufyan. Ramlah was a wife of Muhammad.
