Letter from the President:
Welcome to the Texas Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at SMU!

The spring semester is flying by faster than we could ever imagine! We are so excited to welcome our newest members of Pi Phi and congratulate them on being newly initiated!

This spring is a busy time for the Texas Beta Chapter and Southern Methodist University! On March 2nd we hosted Pi Phi Pops at Dallas’ local hot spot, Steel City Pops, where a percentage of the proceeds went towards a new library in a Dallas elementary school. Other philanthropy events we host throughout the year support First Book, an organization whose mission is to improve literacy and provide books to low-income families. We are proud to say that since Pi Phi’s partnership with First Book, we have raised over 1 million dollars. We welcome any efforts to help support our cause!

Starting this past fall, the Texas Beta Chapter fostered a relationship with the platoon of an SMU Pi Phi’s brother located in Afghanistan. Last fall, we sent care packages in support of our troops and plan to continue this effort this spring!
Coming up around the corner, on March 20th, from 12-2pm is Reading For A Reason, an SMU "big idea," promoting children's literacy. SMU Pi Phi is excited to volunteer for this event because it resembles our own philanthropic efforts so closely!
We are looking forward to Panhellenic and Pi Phi sisterhood events, community outreach programs, Monmouth, our annual formal with Kappa Kappa Gamma celebrating our founding, and of course, spring break! Here at the Texas Beta house, we are full of personality, hard work, and love for our sisterhood! The moment our door opens, you will hear laughter and see smiling faces. Please do not hesitate to visit us!
It is an honor to be the Chapter President of the Texas Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. It is a rewarding and humbling experience to be leading such a phenomenal group of young women. I could not have asked for a better college experience than the one that Southern Methodist University and Pi Beta Phi have provided. I can personally say that the genuine, happy, and loveable girls of SMU Pi Beta Phi are truly unique. Greek Life provides incredible opportunities to become involved around campus and establish life long friendships. I can only hope that you will have the opportunity to have an equally amazing experience. Please do not hesitate to contact us!
Pi Phi Love and Mine,

Caroline Deaton
Chapter President
