SOCHI, October 1. /TASS/. David Blatt, the head coach of Cleveland Cavaliers, said on Thursday he is ready to help the Russian national basketball team as a consulting coach.
Andrey Kirilenko, the president of the Russian Basketball Federation, said earlier that Blatt who coached the Russian team in 2006-2012 could be invited to help the squad as a consultant.
"I told Andrei that I would be happy to help Russian basketball in any way he asks me to. And I meant that," Blatt told TASS.
According to Kirilenko, Blatt’s position at the team will be unofficial.
Blatt led the Russian national team to the EuroBasket 2007 gold and to a bronze medal during the 2012 London Olympics.
