MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. The Russian Interior Ministry has joined the global awareness campaign Turn Back Crime developed by Interpol to highlight the dangers of organized crime and encourage people to play a role in reducing the impact of crime, ministry’s spokeswoman Yelena Alexeyeva told TASS on Tuesday.
"The project is aimed at crime prevention and at making citizens more informed about the activity of Interpol and law enforcement agencies of its member countries," she said.
"Different ways of distributing information are used with this aim, including media, popular social networking systems, video channels and so on," Alexeyeva said.
"Information within this project will be spread by all its participants with the hashtags #TogetherWeCan and #TurnBackCrime," she said. "By reposting such an announcement, every citizen in any country of the globe will make his or her contribution to fight against global crime," the spokeswoman added
A special section has been opened on the official website of the Russian Interior Ministry where information will be posted on a regular basis about events organized by the ministry, as well as about examples of efficient cooperation of Russian police with citizens and public organizations.
