MH370 bound for Beijing vanished from radar screens shortly after taking off from Kuala Lumpur overnight on March 8, 2014. No trace of the plane was found during extensive search in the Indian Ocean some 2,500 kilometers west of Australia in the first 1.5 months since its disappearance. The US aviation authorities who have studied the photos of the wing fragment found on the coast of Reunion Island earlier said it could be from the missing Malaysian airliner. Experts believe that the washed-up debris is a drooped aileron used on this type of aircraft.
