Leve Allowance cap not 99? by taropandain ffxiv

[–]Deimorz 0 points1 point ago

I'm fairly sure that the cap is 100, so unless you get more than that, this isn't unexpected.

[reddit change] Subreddits can now have a single "stickied" self-post that will stay at the top of their "hot" listing by Deimorzin changelog

[–]Deimorz[S] 0 points1 point ago

I'm not sure what you mean, there's not any sort of restriction like that.

Don't show hidden comment scores to moderators by IAmAnAnonymousCowardin ideasfortheadmins

[–]Deimorz 1 point2 points ago

I think it's kind of a tricky decision, and one that I wasn't really 100% sure of either way when I was initially implementing it. I definitely agree that some mods don't really realize the impact of turning it on for their subreddit when they don't have to experience it themselves, but there are also a lot of potential downsides if they couldn't see the scores, especially in relation to noticing vote-cheating and such.

Automod to sticky a post by namer98in AutoModerator

[–]Deimorz 0 points1 point ago

What more, I want automod to store the previous sticky in a variable and restick it after. Say if it's September and the Tuesday trivia came up at 2pm, lets sticky it till 10, then put the old one back. Wednesday, same thing. And next time sticky it 1 to 10.

I think at this point you're starting to get into territory where you need a custom script. It's not really possible for me to build things into AutoModerator in a way where complex custom behaviors like this are feasible. Basic "if you see a post like this, sticky it" is reasonable, but getting into automatic reversions and such is outside the scope of what it does.

Moderators: there is now a button on the comments page of self-posts to sticky or unsticky that post (replacing the permalink box on the settings page) by Deimorzin modnews

[–]Deimorz[S] 0 points1 point ago

Go to the sticked post's comments page, and click on "unsticky this post" above the commenting box (where you change comment sorting and set contest mode).

[Question] Is there a way to have automoderator attached flairs to submissions based on submission button? by AnthropomorphizedHatin AutoModerator

[–]Deimorz 0 points1 point ago

There's not really any way to do this unless you do it by forcing them to have particular differentiating text in the title (which could be put in there by default by the submit button). Then AutoModerator could look at the titles for those markers to decide which flair to give it.

Can AutoModerator read modmail? by NeedAGoodUsernamein AutoModerator

[–]Deimorz 2 points3 points ago

No, not something it supports. What exactly are you trying to do? There may be another approach that would work better.

Scores aren't hidden for moderators, so it'll never appear to be hidden to you.

Having AutoModerator change user flair by Bhruicin AutoModerator

Oh sorry, I didn't see this reply when you posted it. No, there isn't currently any way to do this, until I add the ability to force overriding flair.

I'll most likely add something that has to be deliberately set to override existing flair, just haven't had a chance to do it yet.

The wiki is mostly /u/slyf's project, so you'd probably want to contact him about specific updates to that.

The Aa+ text icon is bold by Exaskryzin Enhancement

[–]Deimorz 6 points7 points ago

I think you're just conflating "viewing content" and "viewing comments" for some reason. There is no different behavior, in both the cases clicking on the headline will take you to the content. However, in the case of a self-post the comments will also be visible, because the content exists on reddit itself so the comments can be made available as well.

There is no way to fix this except by making clicking on the headline always go to the comments instead of the content (not the main use-case), or by having it show the self-post content without the comments and require another click to view comments (inconvenient for no reason).

It's Reddit's decision to confuse users into clicking the content to find out what it is (or if they're savvy enough, to look at the bottom of their browser to see where it is going to send them)

The domain that it's going to send them to is in parentheses on the end of every single title on the site. It's already extremely clear which submissions are going to send the user to another site and which site that is.

The Aa+ text icon is bold by Exaskryzin Enhancement

[–]Deimorz 6 points7 points ago

It still doesn't negate from the fact that Reddit itself needs an overhaul when people click on a headline to get into the conversation and land on a page with an image or the article itself.

I think you're projecting your usage pattern onto everyone. A very large number of users don't participate in, or even view the comments. They have no interest in reading the comments, they just want to click on the link and see the content.

If you have specific suggestions for improving the interface they're definitely welcome, but just making vague demands for change isn't very helpful. Especially when any sort of change is received very poorly, as you can see from this thread complaining about a small icon having its color changed.

[–]Deimorz 7 points8 points ago

Unless it's a text post, you get redirected to the content itself

Even if it's a text post, you get redirected to the content itself. But in the case of a text post, the content is still on reddit instead of another site.

[–]Deimorz 10 points11 points ago

I don't really understand what you're trying to say with this comment or how it's relevant to this change. How does making the button to view self-posts more noticeable encourage "memes and karma bait"? It's not like this icon is the only way to view the self-post, you can view the content by clicking the title, exactly the same as... every single other submission on the site.

It's also fairly ironic that you're making a comment like that in /r/Enhancement, when RES includes multiple features specifically designed to make viewing and voting on "fluff" content like memes much quicker and more convenient. RES has done far more to contribute to acceptance of things like reaction gifs in comments than any design changes on reddit itself.

User on a mobile says he can't see the flair button under his post by MaxtriAin modhelp

[–]Deimorz 2 points3 points ago

If they're using a mobile app (as most mobile users do), it's very likely that there is no flair button or any way for users to set flair on their submissions.

Is it possible for AutoModerator to remove an post which does not have link flair after 1 hour? by Aeroblopin AutoModerator

Weird [thanks] tag showing up in flair for /r/randomactsofcards? by lehmongelohin AutoModerator

It should be able to do that, just delete this line so it stops setting text:

link_flair_text: "[thanks]"

Does the automod support removing domains by entering ".pk", ".biz", etc. in the domain removal section? by lusterin AutoModerator

[–]Deimorz 0 points1 point ago

Yes, the easiest way to do it would be something like:

domain: [".pk", ".biz", ".info"]
modifiers: ends-with
action: spam

I'm a little confused - you just don't want the "[thanks]" text inside the flair box?
