Tedatioxetine (Lu AA24530) is a antidepressant currently under development by Lundbeck and Takeda for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD).[1][2] As of March 2010 it is in phase III clinical trials.[3] Tedatioxetine is reported to act as a triple reuptake inhibitor (5-HT > NE > DA) and 5-HT2C and 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, with additional affinity for the 5-HT2A and α1A-adrenergic receptors (but at which its intrinsic activity has not yet been disclosed).[4][5][6][7] A New Drug Application (NDA) is not expected to be submitted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) until at least 2012.[1]
