If your project uses the Jira issue tracking system for tracking bugs and feature requests, you see a Jira page open when you click Issue Tracking on your project page.
This page describes how to report a bug, find bugs, and create and use a filter to restrict searches to your project. For general help on Jira, click the Help button
at the top right of the Jira page.
To report a bug for a project:

To see which issues are open, follow the instructions above in Reporting a Bug for a Project to get to the Jira issue tracker, where you will see the main Jira page for your project (shown above). If you do not see the main Jira page for your project, click Browse Project in the top navigation bar to go there.
You can navigate to bugs from the list of categories or versions on the main page, or you can use the bug search tool, Find Issues, if there are too many bugs to browse through. If you already know the bug number, you can enter it in your browser's address line using the following syntax:
http://java.net/jira/browse/[bug-id]
For example, the following URL goes to a bug in the coolphpcollabtool project:
http://java.net/jira/browse/COOLPHPCOLLABTOOL-3
Note: The Jira URL uses the project name from the Project Kenai project URL:
http://java.net/projects/coolphpcollabtool
To find bugs with the Find Issues tool:

When you search for issues in your project, the first thing you have to do is select your project from the list of projects, which limits the search to just your project. To save yourself this extra step, you can save this search as a filter and then reuse it every time you do a search for issues in your project.
To create, save, and use a Jira project filter:

on the Manage Filters panel.
at the top right of the Jira page.
When you file a Jira issue, you can use text formatting markup in the Description field that is similar to wiki markup. The following table shows some frequently used markups. For a complete list, see http://jira.atlassian.com/secure/WikiRendererHelpAction.jspa?section=all.
