The Karuna Foundation is based in Sydney, NSW Australia. Its mission is to identify, develop and assist community based projects to help children in developing countries. Working with our local partner in Cambodia, Peace Project Center (PPC), projects are developed and managed to provide the basic clothing and shelter plus access to education that will ultimately lead to the improved quality of life for each child. With such support children will have a better chance to achieve life’s full potential. Importantly each project is locally supported by strong community involvement that ultimately will achieve sustainability.

Karuna’s initial project is a joint venture with PPC based in the rural district of Varin in the remote north of Cambodia. See our latest NEWSLETTER in "News & Events"

How can I help?

Friends and Donors of Karuna can help in a variety of ways. Donations to help fund a Karuna project , sponsor a child or assist in one of many initiatives like funding school materials, uniforms, kitchen equipment, laptops etc can be made with the certainty that not more than 10% will be spent on administration costs. Some donors assist by making regular monthly donations. Donated resources such as voluntary skills, water filters, solar panels, teaching aids, books and computers are also greatly appreciated. Contributors may wish to fund groups of children, care workers, teachers or other development initiatives such as sinking of wells, tree & vegetable plantation, food, dental and health programs in one off contributions.
The Karuna Foundation works in Australia as a community partner of the Australian Foundation for Asia Pacific (AFAP).
All donations over $2 to the AFAP/ Karuna Foundation are tax deductible.
