When you sign up with Project Kenai, you can create up to five projects. If you need to create more projects than this, you can either send an email or fill out a project request form, as described below at Requesting More Projects.
To create a project:

The name must start with a single lowercase letter followed by any combination of lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes. No spaces are allowed. The maximum length is 20 characters. required) Enter a detailed description of your project, including development status. Maximum of 500 characters.
required) The source code license that you require members of your project to agree to when they participate in, and especially when they contribute to, the project. You initially see a list of the top recommended Open Source Initiative (OSI) licenses. As described on the OSI site, these are licenses that are popular and widely used or with strong communities. You can click Show all OSI-approved licenses to see more.


When you first sign up with Project Kenai, you can create up to five projects. If you know you will need more projects than that, you can email kenai-admin@sun.com and request that you be allowed to create more projects.
Alternatively, if you have created all the projects you were allocated, you see the Request Project Creation button on your My Page. Click that button and fill out the form, and an email will be sent to the Kenai administrators requesting that you be allowed to create your new project (or projects if you want to create more than one). An administrator will contact you by email when your project request is approved, and you'll see the Create Project button enabled on your My Page. For step-by-step instructions, see below.
