IBM announced best-in-class SPECjbb2005 results running AIX Java 5 on 2-way (32,820 bops), 4-way (61,789 bops), 8-way (91,806 bops), and 16-way (224,200 bops) IBM® p5 systems with eServer® p5 systems with POWER5+™ processors. (Link is here.)

IBM also published a best-in-class SPECjbb2000 result running AIX Java 5 on a 64-way p5 595 system (2,505,245 operations/sec; link is here). This is a 13.8% improvement over our best-in-class AIX Java 1.4.2 result below.

IBM has also announced best-in-class SPECjbb2000 results running AIX Java 1.4.2 on the following eServer® p5 systems:

AIX Java 1.4 and Java 5 SDKs require Common Hardware Reference Platform hardware.

AIX Java Java 1.4 and Java 5 SDKs include the Java Communications API.

The 32-bit AIX Java 1.4 and Java 5 SDKs include Java 3D™ version 1.3.1.
