Slide Show of Sept. 11 Stories.

Sept. 11 changed our country's foreign policy, our security measures, and our national psyche. But it also affected us in more personal ways. We asked people in New York City a simple question: "How has your life changed because of 9/11?" Some spoke of a sustained fear of planes, trains, and crowded places, and the frustration of racial profiling, but others felt a stronger, more positive awareness of their surroundings and a loving bond with what they see as a great city. Here are 10 stories from around New York.

Share your thoughts about how your life is different because of 9/11 on Twitter, Facebook, or in the comments. Use the hashtag #becauseof911 tell us what's changed for you. Are you afraid of flying? Did you move away from an urban center? Did you re-evaluate your life priorities? Tell us your personal story, and we'll feature a selection of submissions on our Brow Beat blog.

The interviews have been edited and condensed.
