Joel Klobnak still looks like a proud Marine - from his buzz-cut hair down to the red-white-and-blue prosthesis that replaced the leg he lost in Iraq in 2006. But he feels forgotten.

Veterans Charity Fraud: Despite Widespread Outrage, Groups Continue To Abuse Public Trust

Ae68b567_primary

In the last few years, there have been several prominent cases of nonprofit groups that preyed on the public's patriotism and generosity, promising assistance to veterans while lining their own pockets. They range from an impostor -- currently one of the most-sought fugitives in the country -- who claimed he was a Navy commander and ripped off at least $2 million, to a classic fraudster, who set up a table for non-existent veterans groups in front of the local post office and raked in money for years.

Vets hit hard by foreclosure in Florida

D7ddf85d_primary

After the Second World War, returning veterans were welcomed home to two of the most successful government initiatives ever — the FHA and VA housing programs — which put millions of them into their own homes for the first time. Today, later generations of veterans are being confronted by much different housing policies — ones that can toss them out of homes they've bought with their life savings.

2 veterans urge S. Korean lawmakers to pressure U.S. over Agent Orange

F0d96882_primary

In testimony that was critical of the U.S. military and at times emotional, two U.S. veterans asked South Korean lawmakers Monday to pressure their American counterparts for an admission that the U.S. extensively used Agent Orange here in the 1960s and 1970s.
