Category:'Pataphysicians
Pataphysicians or pataphysicists are individuals who adhere to the ideas of pataphysics. Pataphysics, 'the science of imaginary solutions', was invented by Alfred Jarry. The most comprehensive description of it is given in Jarry's novel The Exploits and Opinions of Dr Faustroll, Pataphysician (translation by Roger Shattuck and Simon Watson Taylor, 1965 ) First Published in French in 1911 (Gestes et opinions du docteur Faustroll, pataphysician) . Many expressions of Pataphysics are discernible through the key protagonist of Jarry's life Pere Ubu, emeritus king of Poland and of Aragon, Dr of Pataphysics, etc, etc. and in this sense both Faustroll and Ubu are also pataphysicians.
