Tourism
This is not a live album. It's a tour album!
Tourism was basically written and recorded during our first world tour
Join The Joyride 1991-92 which spread its wings over 4 continents.
Some 1.5 million people joined us at these 107 concerts. We thank you all.
You've made these 12 months on the road into an extraordinary and
everlasting memory for us.
Our idea was to create and collect material along the way; to record our
music in different enviroments in different parts of the world; to take
advantage of the excitement and the energy within the band on a tour like
this.
Studios in Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles, Copenhagen and Stockholm were
used. Concerts in Sydney, Zürich and Santiago were recorded. An empty
nightclub in São Paulo was turned into a primitive recording studio and
a very humid hotelroom in Buenos Aires was transformed into a 8-track
recording facility for the completion of two songs.
No overdubs whatsoever have been added to the live recordings which means
that what you hear is what you got in the first place! Hope you all enjoy
it as much as we have.
Love always
