Daily Hip-Hop News:

TVT Hits Up Lil Jon For Another Album

Wednesday - November 9, 2005 by Sia Barnes

Lil Jon

Despite recent announcements of his displeasure with TVT Records, Lil Jon will be headlining the label's forthcoming Crunk Hits compilation - well, previously recorded Lil Jon tracks, to be exact.

Due November 15, the album features 18 tracks including Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz's "Get Low," Usher's "Yeah" and the Ying Yang Twins' "Salt Shaker," among others. Crunk Hits also includes tracks from T.I., Lil' Flip, Juvenile and Pitbull.

According to TVT Records, the compilation proves that "crunk music, the gritty, club-ready sound which has emerged primarily from Atlanta and Memphis based MCs, is not just another pop culture fad, rather it is a major sub-genre of hip-hop that is still developing and will continue to blaze the charts."

Crunk Hits will be released the same day as Pitbull's M. I. STILL A. M. I. (Money Is Still A Major Issue). The album serves as the Cuban emcee's second release on the label.

TVT Records' Crunk Hits will be released on Nov. 15.

In other Lil Jon news, word is that the producer recently formed a business partnership with 50 Cent. Under the agreement both 50's G-Unit artists and Lil Jon's BME artists will be working with each other in an effort to cross promote. The agreement serves to squash the rumors that Jon's artist Lil Scrappy was going to leave BME for 50's G-Unit records. Instead Scrappy's new album will be still be BME but will it be executive produced by 50.

"50 Cent is going to collaborate and appear on certain projects with BME artists," Jon explained to Billboard, "and I'm going to collaborate and appear on certain projects with G-Unit."
