Rocket Jump

  • Friendly Fandoms: Thanks to the two channels frequently collaborating together fans of RocketJump get along great with fans of Corridor Digital.
    • While not as much as the example above fans of the channel get along pretty well with fans of fellow action comedy skit creators RackaRacka.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Beach Justice's backstory jokes about losing 90% of all their footage thanks to No Plans, No Prototype, No Backup. Come a year and a half later and this actually did happen to Freddie during the filming of another short.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Freddie's "Tebowing" at the end of Beach Justice.
  • Seinfeld Is Unfunny: This video of Freddie Wong playing Guitar Hero II was considered extremely impressive when it first came out because it cuts out the background and characters and only keeps the note chart and score and multiplier meters superimposed over the actual player playing the game in real life, giving the impression that Freddie actually is in the game itself. As more powerful video editing software became more widely available, more rhythm game fans started editing their videos in this way, so it's no longer as special, although filming the player from multiple angles and doing some theatrics with the controller is still original compared to most other rhythm gamers focusing on just playing the actual game itself.
  • Stuck in Their Shadow: The freddiew videos are made by both Freddie Wong and Brandon Laatsch, though Brandon's less heard of because Freddie's name is on the channel and stars in most of the videos.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: While "Every 90s Commercial Ever" is pure Nightmare Fuel, the behind the scenes video helps ease the horror by showing what a fun time the cast and crew had putting it together, especially the child actors.
  • Tear Jerker: Ode to Garry's Mod.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: The period starting with the premiere of VGHS, the rebranding of the channel as Rocket Jump, and Brandon leaving marked a noticeable shift from largely plot-free visual effects showcases to more narrative-driven videos that alienated the fans who preferred the older "short and sweet" format.
