- Common Knowledge: Despite Stretchmo being advertised as a "free to start" game (or in other words a free game with in-app transactions similar to a mobile game), it was actually structured as a demo with the only in-game purchases being the rest of the game. It's believed that the confusion with the advertising was what led the title to its poor sales.
- Disappointing Last Level: The Bonus Challenges set in Pushmo are considered an ultimately disappointing experience due to the levels within having extremely monotonous solutions while all looking very similar to one another (being tall, rectangle-shaped structures with repetitive patterns), which can be seen as very boring after having come off the beautifully vibrant and challenging Bonus Mural sets that came before it.
- I Am Not Shazam: Pushmo is the name of the puzzles, not the main character, who is named Mallo.
- Most Wonderful Sound: The victory jingle.
- Scrappy Mechanic: In Stretchmo, Corin's attraction introduces enemy gizmos that you must use as a stepping stool in order to reach higher up places. Unfortunately if the enemy rams into the player character, they will actually take damage and be forced to respawn at the start of the puzzle. What makes this especially grating is that after respawning the stretchmo will still be left in its current state before you took damage, making it impossible to climb back if the puzzle was designed in a way to block off backtracking at a certain point. Even worse, the rewind bar gets reset after respawning and prevents you from rewinding back to before you got hit.
- Spiritual Successor: This series could be seen as one to the Kururin series as both are puzzle game series published by Nintendo that are prominent in specific eras and whose protagonists are made cuter than a cup of sugar.
- Surprise Difficulty: Some puzzles look simple, even though they might be quite tough. On the other hand, there is a difficulty ranking system which will give you an idea of how tough a puzzle will be.
- That One Level:
- Pushmo: The "Urban Champion" mural is one of the most deceptive murals in the entire game due to how insanely open-ended the upper half is. It also attempts to guide you one way with its green arrow switch, but if you happen to press it then it completely locks you out of reaching the top.
- Crashmo: The moon mural involves taking several large pieces and moving them around the entire width of the map in order to knock other pieces around without without trying to cut your way to the top off completely.
- Stretchmo: The "Gibdo" mural involves several trips of going up and down the structure on both sides in order to maximize the path to the top, and due to how long and flat each layer is it can get rather tedious going back and forth.
- Vindicated by History:
- Although the series stayed relatively underground for its entire lifespan, Pushmo has frequently been praised as an underrated puzzle game collection that deserved a re-release on the more modern consoles.
- Despite its reputation of being advertised as a "free" to play title at launch, Stretchmo years later ended up being much better received as one of the more solid games in the series, with gameplay that ends up being a lot more varied than its previous titles.
