In "001 vs. 001", Oh Il-nam disses Henry Creel's creepy behavior towards Eleven and calls him a sexual predator. A few months after the battle's release, Il-nam's actor, O Yeong-su, was indicted on sexual misconduct charges relating to an incident in 2017.
During "MrBeast vs Squid Games", MrBeast is portrayed as a Rich Jerk who lords his wealth over Gi-hun, who accuses MrBeast's charity as an act for his own benefit. While this was done in good fun, it became much less amusing once a slew of accusations hit MrBeast and his team in July 2024, the least of which included selling gambling products to children, rigging challenges, and making said challenges unsafe for the participants.
MrBeast's Honey line at the start of the battle also aged poorly following the revelations in 2024 that the extension was scamming not only its users but also the creators sponsored by it, such as MrBeast. It got worse when Skitzy, who played MrBeast in that battle, begun scamming people by pretending to be homeless.
A select few barbs in "Caine vs, Alastor" carry much more weight as of Episode 8 of TADC. Namely, Caine's boast of being powerful the moment he snaps his fingers is translated in series as Caine reaching his breaking point, and by then tapping into the full extent of his control over the circus to ragingly torment the players - showcasing Alastor really would be powerless once Caine snapped. On the other side, Al's barbs towards Caine being terrible at his job of entertaining the players and predicting the Circus will eventually collapse if he kept running it are translated [to the players also getting fed up with Caines meager attempts, all culminating in his breakdown, god complex and subsequent deletion, causing everything to go to Hell, just as Alastor predicted.
He Really Can Act: Quite a few battles were praised for how spot-on the voices and acting are.
Dustin's Pennywise is amazing, even considered one of his best roles by Dustin himself.
Benny (better known as Snakebite126) is an overall versatile rapper. You wouldn't believe how many varies characters he's played (Robbie Rotten, the Loch Ness monster, Henry Creel and King Julien for a few).
The Metal Tempest's vocal range is straight up huge. She can do a rather youthful sounding Sonic and the infamously deep bass of Corpse Husband. Especially since her natural speaking voice is rather high and feminine.
Gianni Matragrano does a fantastic Columbo impression in "Benoit Blanc vs Hercule Poirot", but he also does his own body acting in one of his few (if not the only one) live-action roles and he manages to keep up with more experienced actors.

"001 vs. 001" has Vecna claiming Il-Nam should be locked in the Rainbow Room for playing kid games at his age. Come the second season of Squid Game, one of the new games played is the Six-Legged Pentathlon, where two teams compete on rainbow racetracks.
Kraken compares Cthulhu to a new COVID variant. Around two months after the battle, a new COVID variant called XBB.1.5 and nicknamed "Kraken" emerged.
In "Kirby vs. The Very Hungry Caterpillar", the latter references the Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. A few years later, Snakebite126, Caterpillar's voice actor, would put the Very Hungry Caterpillar against the Wonderland Caterpillar on his own channel, performing both characters.
Hollywood Homely: In "Homelander vs. Zoolander", Zoolander accuses Homelander of being "very ugly", even though Homelander is clearly a pretty good-looking guy. This may be an intentional example due to Rule of Funny.
Memetic Mutation: The announcer hammily announcing MrBeast's name in "Squid Game vs. MrBeast" becomes a YTP fad in early 2022 in a similar vein to Barack Obama's intro in this channel's inspiration. Even outside of the YTP and Freshy's fandom, the image or clip of MrBeast being marked with a red circle in said intro is still popular to post whenever MrBeast is brought up.
Misaimed Fandom: Some people who watched "NF vs. Billie Eilish" don't consider Billie's "Your lyrics are NF: not funny" line to be a diss since NF is an artist with songs about mature theme with grounded lyrics; he's not supposed to be funny. Dustin explained that the joke here is; his rap battles fall under the genre of comedy and thus, lines ARE supposed to be funny. Ergo, NF's musical style is unfit compared to Eilish's.
Narm Charm: Springtrap's costume is overall very well done, but the right pinky finger is barely holding on, causing it to dangle in a distracting way. Some thought this made it hard to take Springtrap seriously, while others thought it did a good job emphasizing just how badly Springtrap's suit and body had fallen apart.
Older Than They Think: People were shocked that "Benoit Blanc vs Hercule Poirot" managed to get an actor that actually performed in ERB proper, not realizing it's technically the third time - Dan Bull (who played Jack the Ripper and Churchill on ERB) appeared in "The Grinch vs Ebenezer Scrooge" finale back in December 2020 (and in a few more of Freshy's battles since then), and Part 5's finale, Fairytale Rap Cipher, had a contribution from EpicLloyd himself.
One-Scene Wonder: While he only had one verse at the end of "Squid Game vs. MrBeast", the Front Man was an extremely memorable rapper with some of the best flows in the series.
Play-Along Meme: In "YouTube vs Twitch", Twitch complains about having to go second and tells viewers to comment the timestamp to his verse. The commenters happily complied.
Questionable Casting: Some comments under both the compilation and the video proper pointed out Freshy's take on the Spy ends up sounding much lower and more growly than his canon voice.

Signature Song: "Squid Game vs MrBeast" is easily the channel's most popular video due to the meme and also because it's a well-written and well-shot battle in its own right.
This happens whenever the battle seeming end with a minute or two left in the video, which is the case with YouTube vs. Twitch where TikTok shows up.
Likewise, once the Youtube titles started mentioning featured artists, if it lists more artists than combatants (or the exact same amount but one combatant is voiced by Freshy himself), expect a third party to step in, like in the aforementioned "YouTube vs. Twitch" or "Tintin vs. Nathan Drake"
Besides the aforementioned extra featured artists in the title, the video's rather long running time give viewers a massive hint that "Benoit Blanc vs Hercule Poirot" will be a royale.
Spiritual Successor: People have been calling "Benoit Blanc vs Hercule Poirot" the better version of ERB's "Batman vs Sherlock Holmes", what with both characters showing up in the battle and Fightmarker and Mr. Tibbs doing a better job at portraying Batman than Nice Peter did.
They Copied It, So It Sucks!: There are quite a few people who merely see this channel as just another ERB rip-off. According to Dustin, this is part of the reason why the announcer was removed (In-Universe he was Reduced to Dust) so that the battles aren't completely like ERB.
They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Morbius vs Dracula's lines regarding the former character focus almost exclusively on memes about the movie's poor critical reception and box office numbers and Jared Leto's controversial behavior, with little said about Morbius as a character and absolutely no references to the other characters or events of the actual film (or, for that matter, the comic book it was based on).

In Ridley vs. King K. Rool, Waluigi shows up as a third party, only to be eaten by a Piranha Plant which starts rapping instead.
Big Mac (the hamburger) showing up in a rap battle, even in-universe.
You'd expect Kirby's opponent to be another Extreme Omnivore hero like Pac-Man or Yoshi. Or perhaps an all-consuming horror like Majin Buu, Galactus, or Unicron. But no, it's The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The Dragon Rap Cypher had plenty of famous and badass dragons, from Shenron to Haku to Ridley... and then also thrown into the mix is Spike.
Unfortunate Character Design: In "Bear Grylls vs Steve Irwin," during a brief part where Irwin mentions Minecraft, a Minecraft skin of him appears. However, the tan color for the clothing on the Minecraft skin is too close to his skin tone, making him look like he's naked.
Visual Effects of Awesome: Paul Atreides vs Amleth looks stunning, with high-effort costumes for both participants, great editing, and some scenes done on location as opposed to the usual greenscreen fare.
Watch It for the Meme: The aforementioned MrBeast meme led to a lot of people watching the original battle, making it the channel's most viewed video. Most of them enjoyed the battle too.
