Waybuloo is a British children's series produced by Decode Entertainment and The Foundation which aired on CBeebies.
The series follows four animal-like creatures called Piplings:
- De Li, a pink cat,
- Lau Lau, a purple bunny,
- Nok Tok, a blue bear,
- and Yojojo, an orange monkey.
They live in the magical world of Nara. Everyday, human children called Cheebies come to visit them. Together, the Piplings and the Cheebies co-operate to solve small problems and learn about the world.
Contains examples of:
- Actually Pretty Funny: In one episode, the Piplings have a picnic and find some tomatoes falling off the vine and splatting on the ground. They at first find this disgusting and annoying, but then when they move to another spot without a tomato vine, they find it boring and admit that the splatting tomatoes were funny, so when another vine does the same, they like it.
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: We have a pink cat, a purple bunny, and a blue bear.
- Barefoot Cartoon Animal: The girl Piplings wear dresses but no shoes.
- Cat Girl: De Li could be considered one, since she's a Pipling with cat parts.
- Color-Coded Characters:

- Fictional Slang:
- "Cheebie", which seems to mean either "kid" or "human".
- "Yogo", which is what they call yoga.
- "Buloo", which means to float up into the air.
- Flight: The Piplings can float up into the air, which they use the word "buloo" to refer to.
- Fantastic Pets: The main characters keep butterfly-like bugs called Narabugs as pets.
- Friend to Bugs: The Piplings have butterfly-like bugs called Narabugs as pets.
- Funny Animal: The Piplings are an anthropomorphic rabbit, cat, monkey, and bear.
- Furry Reminder: In "Strawberries", De Li chases the pink Narabug in a very catlike fashion.
- Gender-Equal Ensemble: The Piplings have two boys and two girls. The Cheebies' genders vary.
- Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: Nok Tok only wears a shirt, and Yojojo only wears bottoms. De Li and Lau Lau wear dresses.
- Leitmotif: Each Pipling has their own little theme that accompanies them.
- Medium Blending: The Piplings are animated, while everything else is live-action.
- No Name Given: The Narabugs are only known as "[character]'s Narabug".
- Odd Name Out:
- Yojojo. His name is three syllables and one word, while the other Piplings have two-word names that are two syllables.
- Downplayed compared to the above example, but De Li's name is four letters while the other Piplings' names are six letters.
- Pink Girl, Blue Boy: De Li is pink and Nok Tok is blue.
- Rhyming Name: The boy Piplings are named Nok Tok and Yojojo.
- Third-Person Person: The Piplings talk in third person.
- Token Minority: Of a sort; Nok Tok has a dark face while the other three Piplings have pale faces. However, whether this was intentional or not is up for debate.
- Uncatty Resemblance: The Narabugs are the same colours as their owners.
- Vague Age: The Piplings are naive like children and hang out with humans who are clearly children, but they live with only their pets, which would suggest they're adults. If they are children, they can do yoga, which would suggest they're school aged, but they also speak in broken grammar, which would suggest they're toddlers.
- You No Take Candle: The Piplings speak in primitive grammar, e.g. "Picnic quiet without buzzy thing".
