From down to up: Vivi, Mochilão, and Lanterninha

Vivi Viravento, shortened as Vivi and renamed Vivi in Whirlyworld in the English dub, is a Brazilian animated Preschool Show by Alê Abreu (Garoto Cósmico, Boy & the World), based on his short film of the same name from 2009. It is produced by Mixer in Brazil and acquired by 9 Story Media Group for overseas distribution. It premiered in Brazil on Discovery Kids, TV Cultura, and TV Ra-Tim-Bum on December 2, 2017, and in the United States on Qubo on January 4, 2020 with an English dub. It's also available to watch on Tubi.

It follows an ambitious young girl who wants to see a mysterious place known as "Whirlyworld", divulged by her great grandmother. Joining on her adventures is her backpack Mochilão and flashlight Lanterninha as the trio travel across the globe to get to Whirlyworld, while also meeting friends along the way.

We're getting closer to Trope-y world!:

  • Ambiguously Brown: The title character has light brown skin, but it's unclear what background she comes from.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Mochilão and Lanterninha are Vivi's equipment, respectively a backpack and a flashlight, who come alive whenever Vivi does her Once per Episode routine.
  • Cheerful Child: Vivi herself is a young, joyful, adventure-seeking Pollyanna who loves to make friends as she loves to seek for Whirlyworld.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Mochilão's English dub name is "Backpack". Fittingly, "Mochilão" is Portuguese for "big backpack".
  • Disney Acid Sequence: At least each episode has one after the conflict's resolved, usually consisting of a scrapbook-like setting with the trio and their new friend dancing.
  • Dub Name Change: The Qubo dub changes the names of Vivi's backpack and flashlight from Mochilão and Lanterninha to Backpack and Flashy.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Vivi has two hair buns tied at the lower part of her hair. She's also a joyous seven-year-old girl who loves seeking for adventure.
  • No-Line Animation: The characters are drawn without outlines, with the exception of Backpack's dark-yellow outlines in his torso to distinguish it with the rest of his body.
  • Punny Name: In the English dub, Lanterninha is renamed Flashy. "Flashy" is a synonym of "flash", which can also mean "flashing your lights", which can be used to refer when turning on a flashlight. In other words, Flashy is a flashlight.
  • Share Phrase: The main trio has "We're getting close to Whirlyworld!".
  • Strictly Formula: Each episode has it's structured set-up:
    • Vivi visits the designated country in search for Whirlyworld, finds an item related to her journey, follows what the item is doing, after which Mochilão and Lanterninha come to life.
    • Once the trio find what they're looking for, they meet the friend of the week, whom they initially have trouble with due to their differences. Vivi is then reminded by her other self that she needs to solve the problem in her own way.
    • Once the conflict's resolved, the trio and their new partner dance in a vivid Disney Acid Sequence.
    • Vivi concludes the episode by saying she'll find Whirlyworld some other day, followed by an item related to the episode following her around.
