Rabbit Academy: Mission Eggpossible (Die Häschenschule: Jagd nach dem Goldenen Ei in German) is the German-Austrian sequel to Rabbit Academy, released in 2022.
The film continues the story of the young urban hare Max and his new friends from Easter Bunnies School. Max has now made it into the Easter Bunny master class. But Leo, a former student of Academy, wants to take revenge for his expulsion and spoil Easter. He even makes a pact with the evil foxes and together they steal the Easter egg. The Golden Egg, which gives master bunnies magical powers, turns black. Max reluctantly teams up with the fox Ferdinand, who does not want Easter destroyed and realizes that Leo is only using his family for his own purposes.
Rabbit Academy: Mission Eggpossible provides examples of:
- Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Just like in the previous movie, the European hares are depicted faithfully and close to their realistic coloring. However, Madame Hermione is white-furred, while the European hares in Real Life are brown-gray all year round.
- Barefoot Cartoon Animal: The hares from the forest and the foxes are fully clothed, but they don't wear shoes.
- Break-Up/Make-Up Scenario: Max notices the element of a trap in Ferdinand and accuses him of colluding with Leo and fox family. Outraged, Ferdinand denies everything and leaves the School, regretting that no one trusts him. Max, after thinking it over, goes to the fox hut in the morning and makes up with Ferdinand.
- Cassandra Truth: When Ferdinand accidentally learns Leo's true plans, he wants to warn his family, but they don't listen to him.
- Civilized Animal: Similar to the previous movie, animals wear clothes and use modern technology.
- Doesn't Trust Those Guys: Hare students are afraid of Ferdinand, and for good reasons since he wanted to steal Easter with the rest of his family in the previous movie.
- Dub Species Change: Like in the first film, in the original German version, the leporid characters are European hares, as in German-speaking countries the hare plays the role of the Easter Bunny.note But in the English, French, Spanish, and Italian dubs, hares are still translated as rabbits, as the rabbit assumes role of the Easter Bunny in English-speaking, Spanish-speaking, French-speaking countries, and Italy.
- Easter Chicks: Hens that lay the eggs used to make the Easter eggs are featured.
- Even Evil Has Standards:
- Even though the fox family are enemies of the hares, they, especially Ferdinand, do not want Easter's destruction. Ferdinand comes to Rabbit School especially because he cares about Easter very much.
- When in the finale Lawrence and Bruno have a chance to get the Golden Egg, Ruth orders the item to be left alone.
- Fantastic Racism: The hares approach Ferdinand with reserve. Although Ferdinand doesn't want to harm anyone, the students are understandably terrified of him.
- Foul Fox: Downplayed. Ferdinand wants to save Easter. Even his family realizes that Leo is evil.
- Four-Fingered Hands: Like in the first film, the hares and foxes both have four-fingers on their hands.
- Fully-Dressed Cartoon Animal: All animal characters are fully clothed.
- Funny Animal: The hares, foxes, and hens, although they have reminders or behavioral quirks/gags related to their species, could be replaced by humans and it wouldn't make any difference at all.
- Furry Female Mane: Like in the first film, female hares and Ruth don't have human-like head hair, but Sandy has a mohawk.
- Heel–Face Turn: Ferdinand helps hares in defeating Leo because he also cares about Easter. In the end, the rest of the fox family became good guys after saving the Golden Egg and realizing their mistakes. Ruth even forbids Bruno and Lawrence from trying to steal any eggs.
- I Lied: Leo, in exchange for helping to conquer Rabbit School, promises the foxes to become Easter Foxes. Of course, he never intended to fulfill this promise.
- Liar Revealed: Downplayed. Although Ferdinand does not say that his family has set traps for rabbits everywhere, he has not cooperated with Leo from the beginning and does not participate in his plans.
- MacGuffin: Golden Egg is the source of Easter Bunnies' magic.
- New Technology Is Evil: Ferdinand looks with distaste at Leo and his passion for online livestreams.
- Power-Up: Golden Egg is giving powers necessary to perform the profession of the Easter Bunny.
- Predator-Prey Friendship: Ferdinand tries to help the Academy with stopping Leo from destroying Easter and befriends Max. In the end, he is accepted by the Easter Bunnies and becomes the first official Easter Fox.
- The Prophecy: The heroes discover an ancient mural describing a great power amplifier that grants shared strength only after undying trust.
- Pun: In addition to the fox and lagomorph puns, there are also those about chickens.
- Pun-Based Title: The subtitle "Mission Eggpossible" is a pun on Mission Impossible.
- The Quincy Punk: Leo and Sandy; not only do they wear leather jackets, piercings, and mohawks, but they are also not the nicest hares in town, clearly fitting this category.
- Remember the New Guy?: Hens, who weren't present in the first movie.
- Sequel Non-Entity: Ron doesn't appear and isn't mentioned at any point in the movie.
- Unusual Animal Alliance: The hares reluctantly team up with Ferdinand, a fox who wants to save Easter from a Leo. Also, Leo teams up with Ferdinand's family by falsely promising them that they will become Easter foxes.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Like in the first film, foxes want to take over the role of the Easter Bunny for humans' adoration and thus team up with Leo. In the end, Ruth is very proud that Ferdinand became the first official Easter Fox.
- White Bunny: Madame Hermione is a hare with white fur.
